Root [ACS] Shabbykernel RC1

i installed the V6 supercharger script just fine...

just curious, could you list the steps that you took to install v 6? I installed as stated by the instructions, but it doesn't seem to be taking. I keep getting pidoff not found, as well as several other messages.

Maybe Shabby or somebody else could answer my question for me. I haven't tried it yet considering that I'm on a work computer right now, but I know that we could flash the previous kernal through Odin, but considering that this one was setup for CWM, is it still possible to flash this one through Odin as well? I'm not positive that my several attempts at flashing through CWM were a success.

well blood's new theme and installing v6 gave me a reason to go back to stock. since getting an older busybox was necessary to install v6 so ill start from there. the reason for going back to install it is because busybox installer was not working for me. kept force closing.

used odin with EE14_RT_CWM_SK
installed busy box 1.18.2
copied it from system/xbin to the xbin in unzipped shabbymod folder (ex. C:\Documents and Settings\hate\My Documents\Unzipped\Loaded-0.9\Loaded\Rom\Xbin)
inatalled shabbymod
installed simple green (lol not needed but very nice)

note if u already have busybox 1.18..2 or lower you can skip to the next step

flashed kernel
installed gscript lite and script manager from market
downloaded V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh and put it on sdcard
use script manager and navigated to V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh.
clicked on it and checked run as root then run......have no idea what to do with
tried some options but didnt seem to work.

Getting a little confused between the ShabbyKernel and the Hroarkkernel. Are you guys going to combin these? If not, what are the differences and which should I choose?

i'd also like to know

can you guys post some sort of spec sheet that lists what your kernel adds and maybe check with each other about what is different from the other kernel?

or just like work together and make one super kernel?

for example does hroark kernel do everything that shabby 0.9 kernal does, but just added ext4 support?

or

does shabby kernel rc1 do everything 0.9 kernel does, but just added init.d support?

so then if hroark kernel also adds init.d support why not just compare and contrast notes with hroark and then post one super kernel

just my 2 cents

pidof is a busybox tool, got it installed?

I'm using jrummy's Busybox Installer Pro. I downgraded and reinstalled 1.18.2 from 1.19.1, and I even checked several programs that I have installed to see which Busybox that was running, and I thought that the right Busybox had installed correctly, so who knows.... LOL

I don't want to do it, but it's looking like I might have to Odin and start over from scratch if I want this thing to be the right way....

i have a changelog, (not a very good one) but i say whats changed (from previous versions). i have no idea whats idfferent then hroark's.

no we wont combine them. its about time i got some competition in here :P makes me stay on my toes, hroark is a very smart guy no need to combine em when you can offer more choices. if once of us makes a breakthru im sure the other will include it, but at the same time allows for different options and settings, perhaps as time goes on and we get source fixxed you guys will see the major changes.

this is the second kernel ive put out the first one was just a bare bones root at shell, remove logmein, this one adds a few new features as listed, i dont do kernels never really took teh time to learn em, so honestly im wingin it.

ive been busying getting my classes in order and getting ready for school which starts for me on the 22nd, havent had a whole lot of time to catch up with hroark and see what all is new :)

I managed to get everything with V6 configured without having to Odin back. I rechecked everything and I found out that while I had 1.18.2 Busybox in the xbin, I had the newest Busybox in the bin. There must have been a confliction. LOL I reinstalled 1.18.2 into both the bin and xbin and now everything is going smooth. Now to figure out what the best settings are....

Busybox Installer from market lets u pick what version u want to install

I can't find /data/99supercharger and I checked the logs of when I was using v6 and all the files it tried to create had failed.. my script manager is set to run as root as is v6 script.

Any idea what I need to do?

With your kernel and the V6 script my phone has been uber snappy the past 3 days... I had to wait to make sure there was no placebo effect...

ok, no darktremor support with our phone it would seem, I can not get the script to mount the filesystems to install. I wonder if it is because it uses bash instead of sh

Soo apps2sd doesnt work ? What about links2sd ?
apps2sd, from market should work, but the script by darktremor, which is so much more then apps2sd and link2sd does not seem to work.
now if you read my post on the other thread link2sd seems like crap to me.:p

link2sd works perfect for me with ext2.... app2sd does not move the data so that kinda defeats the purpose of what we are trying to do...

I installed CWM/Hroarkernel (they come together). So if i install this using CWM will cwm disappear since it was installed along with hroarkernal?
