Root alternate recovery!

I am having issues with a TWRP backup--a bunch of apps are "not installed". It also lost some theme elements, like a custom dock in my launcher. Might have to go back to CWM.

Edit: Got it to work. I was saved the recovery partition (rbox had indicated it was optional, or not needed). If I chose to not restore it (and also not restore the mysterious blank slot) everything seems to be fine.

I think the ONLY one who should worry about the splash hanging is Scotty, since he is probably in his recovery partition more than he is in the OS partition of the phone. ;)

Has anyone else seen this pic while navigating recovery

I think I pressed volume up and down at the same time. I couldn't figure out how to get out of it and had to do a battery pull, not sure if volume up and down would get you out of it

Lol yep I've seen it. I'm not 100% sure how I got to it,either... May have been vol up+down. Had to do a battery pull to get out of it also.

are yall joking

Yeah but until someone can find a way to get out of it I would say not so awesome as both Scotty and I had to do battery pulls

Thats awsome..:p
lol
yeah i thot so too until i couldnt get out of it other than pulling the battery. i litterally about fell out of my chair, lol. i even tried leaving the phone alone for 5 minutes to see if it would go back to a menu.

There is still heptic feedback but the softkeys don't do anything. If someone can find a way to get out of it without a battery pull then that is good otherwise I hope it will be removed with an update.

If you do try using volume up/down at the same time to get out of it (and to get into it as I am still not sure how I got it to pop up)

HAHAHAHA, that emo horse is something else man! I'm tempted to try it just for the hell of it

im tempted to make him my new wallpaper :D

at first i thot it was id tried to go back to far... memeber how CWM if youd get that screen with the hat? i thot it was kinda like that... and would eventually go bAck to a menu. nope! volcano just hung out there, lol

Press Vol UP and Vol Down at the same time a second time to get out of the emo horse screen. The recovery menu will pop back up with the image dimmed out in the background.

Awesome emo horse btw. I thought everyone was joking til i did it myself.

Has anyone had any problems with restoring a backup and all the apps stored on the SD not loading?

I flashed a Sense ROM to play around with, wiped everything, and restored my backup and only the apps saved to internal memory restored, the ones on my SD had to be restored from TiBu. Everything else from the SD restored, just not the apps.

I should add too, that the apps showed up in the market, and also in manage applications, they were just all blacked out and I had to reinstall them. Wasn't a big deal, but that's the first time I've had an issue with TWRP.

I restored a backup last night after fudging up my status bar and completely removing it by accident  and I just checked the games I have saved on my SD and all are working

I had a few apps not looking lie they were installed after a nandroid restore. I tried to reinstall one and got a application already installed error and they all came back. Thing is I've restored nandroids before and since with TWRP and not been able to replicate the issue.

Weird, I deleted and made a new nandroid, but haven't tried it yet. The handful of times I restored the nandroid before last, it worked just fine.
