Root Amon Ra Wiping Options

I'm a little confused as to what needs to be wiped manually in amon ra ... I know I need to wipe everything but sd card, but what about sdcard/.android_secure?

Yes you should wipe sdcard/.andoid_secure. However you do not want to pic the SDCARD itself. (As a Layer of protection I normally will copy the sdcards contents over to the desktop just in case I make a boo boo.)

Yet another good reason to use the AR Style recovery. The sdcard wipe is where it's supposed to be, at the bottom so the mistake wipe of the sdcard is nearly impossible;)

I was using that recovery but had issues with it restoring nandroids properly so I went back to amon ra 2.3. No issues with restores now but probably part of the reason I wiped my SD card due to SD wipe not being at bottom. But it was mostly my fault for not paying attention during wiping.

Since this has become an issue with most users of AR style recovery and I seem to be the only one not having issues restoring nandroids, may I ask what problems were you encountering? Were you wiping before the restore? Apps missing? Did you look at the recovery log and see if you could recognize any errors? Did you try a restore from another recovery while being on AR style?

Just curious why some are having issues with the restore process:confused:

I was on 3.11 and had an issue, or thought I did. Can't remember now what it was, forgive me, oldtimer's disease. :)

Anyway, I just dropped back down to 3.08.

Now one time though, on 3.08, recovery seemed to freeze on me. The capacitive buttons would not work. There was no 'go back' option to choose with vol switch and back didn't do anything.

I ended up pulling the battery but I am still using it.

I was just curious as to what problems people were having so I could avoid having restore issues. I've flashed every rom available and restored from sense to sense, aosp to sense, sense to aosp, aosp to aosp and I have yet to encounter an issue, knock on wood:p But as always, the old saying, every phone is different:)

I am using 3.11 as well and I made a back up of the stock (or what was stock when I got it) 2.3.3 and put decks 1.3 rom on and made back up of that as well I I have restored both of those at least twice each.

No problems, though I have to say the size of those nandoids is surprising, I came from 2 phones with limited internal and those backups were quite abit smaller.
