Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

Really?? I'll give you this - _maybe _.

iPhone converts getting up to minute updates believe it - with an os years behind in features, Android needs those updates too, even though that defies reason. Apple showing off making upgrades years after the fact isn't as pertinent as the blogosphere says.

And we power users want the greatest. Want to stand stock JellyBean up against my tuned ICS rig? Forget butter, bring something better like Parkay because you're gonna lose.

Should we be getting more timely updates in keeping with our consumer rights? Absolutely, you bet, it's what we were promised.

But what the majority expects? Ok, I won't kick, but I will ask - which majority? What were they told what was meant by that?

You know? :) ;)

It's the general consumer that drives majority of the sales. The main concept behind sales to the general consumer is making them feel that they have the latest and greatest, even if they don't know what the update does.

I concede that you work in marketing and I sincerely respect that.

I question neither the concept nor the premise.

I do question that the elusive class of the general, common consumer is known and quantified at all.

What objective data supports the claims to the claimed perspective?

That's my question, bias, and doubt. ;) :)

You're right that I don't have numbers to quantify what the general consumer knows or doesn't know, however, if it were not the case that the general consumer wasn't the majority, none of the major marketing campaigns would be geared towards that demographic. None of the bloggers and websites would ever take into consideration the OEM UI in their reviews, criticize amount of internal storage. If the majority demographic were the root/modding community, then the marketing strategy would be completely different. After all, the main goal of these OEM's is to sell the products. Can we honestly say, as android fanatics, that we necessarily need to be sold on the specs of a phone or told wht they do? I don't believe so, at least not to the degree that they have to for the general consumer. The modding/root community already know they have the option to root, in order to keep their device current. The general consumer, not so much.

I don't question that the general consumer exists nor do I question the importance of the metric.

I question whether the general consumer is who the blogosphere, or our own impressions, is who we think that is. ;)

And my faith in the quality of the news blogs is several orders of magnitude below my faith in the tooth fairy. ;) :)

All of the 15 devices have been released/announced. The ZTE Flash and the iPad LTE are the only ones without a "formal" Sprint press release.

Anybody think there'll be more than the 15 that were mentioned at the beginning of the year? I'm pegging the LG Mach and ZTE Flash to go on Sale mid-December, at the same time, since they're both "mid-range" devices. Looks like the Optimus G will likely be the last Superphone available this year.
I like your list but, I think this version is a bit more clean and easier to read: Device release count & Dates - Sprint 4G Rollout Updates

If you look carefully, DREX's list is actually more accurate (see SGS3 release date). ;)

I can assure you I was not trying to discredit Drex in anyway. His list is great and I have referenced it many times. (Thanks Drex!) Just showing another version that, although less info provided, is quick and easy on the eyes.

I know you weren't discrediting DREX,just wanted to point it out, a tip of the hat, if you will, not only for the time he dedicates to the SPRINT FORUM, but, a long overdue THX for the job that he did maintaining the MO'PHO FORUM, before moving on to the NOTE2.

The kudos are extended to all who contribute here,to some of the coolest people I've ever come across anywhere. :D

LOL...No worries, Ben. I know you weren't tryin' to do that. As always, you know my intent it always just to help out my Phandroid bros and sis. It's family up in here.

You could use vbcode to create a table like structure to make it look like this..

Only issue is one has to keep a master copy of the code somewhere to easily edit it to paste it back in a post, because trying to edit the code within the post itself would look like this below and one would rather shoot themselves trying. lol

After the popularity & commercial success of the SGS III (w/removable battery & expandable storage) it'll be interesting to see how well this phone sells.

AFAIK, the Nexus devices have never really sold that well to the masses. The device seems to be more common among folk like you and I (power users).

Looks like the manual for the LG Nexus 4 leaked (on LG's own website, no less). It confirms that there will be a 16GB version. No word on carrier distribution of course, but at least it will have the option for more memory.

Assuming it does make the journey to Sprint shortly down the road, I will likely use my upgrade in June to purchase it. I feel like I'm going to dedicate a shelf on my bookshelf to my phones like a shrine of sorts. I'll get some mantles and labels for each device lol.

LOL I'm already thinking of doing that with my OG EVO.

I've got a bunch of devices just laying around now that I have an SGS3. I'm not sure if I want to activate it yet. I feel like 3VO development is just getting off the ground now, so I don't want to miss out.

So with the announcement that the LG Nexus 4 will be on the Google Play store for $299, is it safe to assume this is not coming to Sprint?

Not necessarily, the Galaxy Nexus was on the Google play store and also on Verizon. I wouldn't rule out a CDMA model. Sprint seems to be about 6 months behind for nexus devices, so I would expect about the same timeframe.
