Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

Ok, yes, absolutely correct, but here's the thing - as soon as I show her something not made by HTC or Samsung, she's going to be asking about ALL of the available phones. :D

So, I want to be totally prepared. Like me, she's been known to change her mind.

And because her other need in addition to good texting is a good camera, I'd be remiss to not be helping her notice her upgrade options in that area.

Myself, I think that the Mach looks perfect for her in the keyboard department, I can't wait to try it out myself to be honest.

She's happy with her Shift's pictures - most of the time.

Same old story - no perfect phones so we have to choose from the ones that are close enough. :o :)

Ahhh...I see now. Well, we're all here to help give you good arguments for any of them (especially the ones that will steer her in the direction you feel would come back with the least amount of complaints and headaches...LOL). Always lookin' out for AF brothers and sisters.

I'll steer her away from stuff that I think is junky or will cause support problems for me - but I won't try to steer her towards anything. :)

I was surprised when she chose the Shift over the Epic but I ought not have been. She just knows what's right for her. ;)

Sprint burned me on my mail in rebates 2 years ago.

Despite my other supporting documentation, I could not *prove* to them that I'd mailed in my rebate requests on time (the ones they claimed that they never received) - so I got bupkiss. Just like everyone else complaining about the same exact thing here a few years ago.

Far as I'm concerned, all prices are without mail in rebates - you know - that slimy practice that they stopped for months and are now pulling again??

Yup...which is why I take my business, as far as phone purchase is concerned, to the 3rd parties. I got burned with MIR's too many times.

Sprint wanted me to "prove" to them that I hadn't used any upgrades. Long story; I won't bore you with the details but suffice it to say, I get pretty heated any time I have to "prove" anything because they have a database with 14 yrs of my money in it. THAT'S proof enough.

I do a lot of reading and came across a site called planetfeedback. I decided since nothing else was working I'd try this route. Sign up, select the company you have a beef with, post your issue, click send. Within a day I rec'd a call from someone who can act on behalf of Dan Hesse. Not only did they sort out my nightmare but they also saw to it I got my rebate that I didn't know was available. When I purchased my phone, rebate was never mentioned.

The site still exists. The woman who contacted me researched 3 yrs in less than 48 hrs. Her findings were amazing. A rebate wasn't the only thing I got. :D
Try it Early; it cant hurt.

Wait - I just caught that the Optimus G has a glass back. I must be slow or something.

Puts that out of the running for WifelyMon's next phone. :(

Isn't it the same as the Nexus 4? I'm thinking with Gorilla Glass 2 it shouldn't be an issue (At least not from the demos I have seen of GG2). I usually take pretty good care of my phones, but for some reason I dropped my GSII a lot. Even with that I'm not going to be putting a case on my N4, I'll take my chances.

That's why I buy all my phones at BestBuy... Never a mail in rebate, price matching, and if you do get a warranty it is better than anything through a carrier.

Yea, last phone was from Bestbuy, one before from Radio Shack. I'm going to try that feedback site for sure.

Gorilla Glass 2? Please. Ever seen a Shift? Metal outer casing on the top part of the slider, recessed retro speaker grill, typical HTC style? WifelyMon's metal case is crimped over the speaker grill, that's how hard it's been dropped. (And it was in a case.)

Double the glass, you more than double the chance of breakage (reliability statistics fact). If something has a 50/50 chance of making it, and you double the susceptibility, it gets a 25% chance of making it. Exactly why you can see so many iPhones with broken glass.

Others find it attractive, I find it ugly, precisely because it represents ridiculous design to me.

But, that's just me.

I wish I had known about that site when Sprint lost my phone number completely (pre-Dan Hesse)...I mean, they released my phone number into a general pool and someone swooped it up before they could retrieve it from the system. I was still able to negotiate a good settlement, but sounds like that website would've been much easier.

The only thing I didn't like about planetfeedback is that your post is visible to all but once rec'd by the powers that be (the company you have a beef with) everything is private via phone. If you choose to let the readers know the outcome; that;s your business. People (other members) get to reply to your post.

That part to it is was neither here nor there for me since none of them could grasp what I was ticked off about. My suggestion; if you choose to reply to people who comment--keep a cool head cause opinions are like ........we, all got one..... you know what I mean. :D

I second Best Buy for purchases and Insurance.

About GG2, it's thinner, but it doesn't offer any more protection than GG1 did. Had they made it as thick as GG1, it may be stronger, but they seem to be going to thinness like everyone else.

Thanks NYC, I guess I just have to wait till June. Man that Droid DNA look good.I wish HTC would release one phone on all carriers with the same design.

Personally, I hate all of this carrier exclusive non-sense. It's likely the primary reason for the downfall of the CDMA Nexus program.

Sprint Community: Sprint Plug-in-Connect Tri-Mode USB available soon!

All of the 15 devices have been released/announced with exception to the iPad mini LTE and Plug-in-connect Tri Mode USB hotspot device, that have yet to announce a definitive release date and price, but are both expected soon.

Interesting that there's nothing in December for Sprint. Wonder what will happen.

Well I'm already looking forward to some new tech coming 2013. I'm guessing 1080p is going to be the theme.
