Root Anybody running CM7 source?

Me too. I'm running Fancy Widgets which does pretty much what I want. They have a pro version and I might get it and then put in a product request for multiple cities. I was just trying to decide between that and BW. I'm kind of loyal to FW though because I've been using the free version. BW should have a free test version too.

These nightlies are pretty cool huh?

I'm running Invisiblek #28 kernel with Build #5 and it works great. I loved #21 with CM6.1 and #28 seems to be just as awesome with CM7.

yeah i guess it it is all on preference and stuff
and yeah these nightlies are fun this is the first rom i have actually ever uses and man did i have to step up to the learning curve fast with crackflashers lol

hey man are you getting usb tethering of any kind ??? i was looking into switching but on XDA they say other kernels will boink the tethering???

Have you tried just flashing the ROM then checking sound settings without flashing anything else? You flashed a theme? Different kernel? Titanium restore? What radio you using? HBOOT version? Are you wiping cache partition and Dalvik as well as the factory reset?

There are so many variables that I would by trial and error try to find the solution and narrow it down. If it does not bother you that much than I would leave it be :)

Okay... wiped both cache partition and as well as factory reset. This time I got into Sound Settings just fine. I suspected it might be something in Titanium that I was restoring that maybe I shouldn't be restoring, so I did a very CAREFUL selection in Titanium to make sure I was only selecting (no red items) that which I knew I would use. This was a *restore missing apps + all system data* selection, plus some of the white selections that were crossed out.

And son of a gun, after I did the restore of those items, I lost the ability to get back into Sound Settings. There is something I'm restoring that is throwing a glitch into it and I don't know what it could be.

And what's with the white list of crossed out apps anyway? Many of these are apps that are 3rd party, but a lot of them came from the Market. They are current and as far as I can tell, should not be kept out of a normal restore. I'm thinking that maybe there is a *Froyo-only* app that is causing a the Sound Settings script from running???

i think it is that too and also you have to remember that not all apps are GB ready yet so it really could be any third party app that is throwing a wrench into your works

I don't have a need to use tethering so I've never worried about this functionality. I would stick with the OOTB kernel if you want everything to work.

I re-downloaded everything from the Market rather than restoring through TiBU or MyBackupPro. My market links were apparently broken and not getting updated properly, so no wonder there was a conflict. Everything is perfect now. :D

Titanium pro has a market doctor function for broken market links. Might be worth a shot next time. I restore "All missing apps + data" for 2.3 Roms and then there's a much shorter list to peruse through. Uncheck anything that's not a market app. Also, if you plan to be on 2.3 Roms from here on out, once you're up and running, it's handy to do a batch for "Delete all backups for uninstalled apps". Then the shortlist of junk gets pitched and future wipes/flashes become a single click operation again with..."all missing apps + data".

Sweet I'm glad it is all well. A sickly Inc is not fun!

When I use Ti backup I only backup apps that I have installed myself. When I restore I don't restore "apps + data" I just do "apps". It does take a little longer through the set-up phase, but I rarely have issues, and if I do then I know it's something else.

Nice detective work djkeller!

Is anyone still flashing the nightlies? I stopped at #5 because this build is virtually perfect as is. The only thing I can't do is run Quadrant, but that's a known issue and one we know will be resolved once the hardware accelerators are included.

I'm patiently waiting for the official release candidate, and then I will flash. I can't help but wonder what goodies there will be to uncover!

Is there anything new in the most recent builds?

I cant say this enough. I hope most people flash every nightly. The problems encountered are the only way to test each build. The more using each one, the better chance all the bugs will be figured out quickly and the RC/stable releases come quicker.

Just my opinion, but other than donating (which people should do), testing each nightly is the best way to pay back those who are working so hard for our benefit!

/soapbox

(Maybe a MOD/ADMIN could merge this and the other nightly thread now that there is only nightlies) - Ignore this. For whatever reason they are up to build 57 which was put up yesterday...... not sure why
