Anyone else planning on pre-ordering?

They're different use cases IMO. I don't use my 7" tablet for the same purpose that I use my 10" tablet for. My advice - Buy 'em both. I probably will. :)

If my XYBOARD 10.1 doesn't see ICS anytime soon (Q3 2012,per MOTOROLA), I may just get both.

I ordered on June 28, then reordered on July 1 to include a case. I wonder how far back that puts my order? I just got the cancellation email today.

Ugh, I cancelled my order for the 8gb on release day to switch to the 16gb and still have yet to get that email. I don't even know why we have to call them in the first place to cancel something. ANYWHERE ELSE would let me click a link to cancel the order so this has nothing to do with credit cards. Why does google have to complicate such a standard procedure?! :banghead:

Shipping is now 3-4 weeks. I hope that's for new orders and not retroactive.

*edit* Just saw this at XDA.

Awww man. :(

FYI, that guy only has like 4 posts... and was given info from a customer service rep. They also claimed the site was changed to "3-4 weeks" on the play market when this went down.

I checked the play store myself, and it still says 2-3 weeks, and the FAQ on the play store still says mid July. Until it hits the major news sites, I'm not going to believe in a delay. Now if JB isn't finished in 2 weeks, then I'd start getting worried...

I also checked the play store myself and it did say 3-4 weeks. Now its back to 2-3 weeks. Maybe they changed it back just to fend off all the calls they were getting. I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks.

I saw the same thing.

Hopefully they are adjusting according to how much stock they have on hand and they just confirmed a new completed batch of N7s ready to roll out!

I get 2 - 3 weeks. Plus, if you click 'learn more' there's a tab which says:-
When will my preorder ship?

Preorders will begin shipping in mid-July.
Once your order has shipped, you

Maybe they changed it from 3-4 weeks back to 2-3 weeks because its been a week since they announced it. So it would still be 2-3 weeks from now, but not from when they announced it.

Personally I think they were just getting flack over changing it.

I know last night I tweeted asking if they had any info on the date change to Engadget, Gizmodo, AnandTech, AndroidAuthority and TmoNews. :D

How are you guys ordering the case? It doesn't give me that option.

I believe it was sold out shortly after it was announced. I saw a post from someone else who got to play with one and they said it fit perfectly in their Kindle Fire case. Not sure how the speaker holes lined up though.

Ah. Ok. Will wait till mine comes and go check out some cases in store

i ordered one...for my mum. she'll get updates before i do!

as much as like the look of the device, i can't justify getting one for myself at the moment.

looking forward to having a play around with JB. Might convince me to get the new nexus phone whenever that comes out in the future if i like vanilla android on this nexus tablet.

I preordered this afternoon. I am developing the android app of the century :-), and hope that the nexus will be a good machine for testing on the theory that it might actually get regular updates from google for new android versions. My phone only has 2.2 on it.

I'm considering getting this device BECAUSE I want to start doing Android development and I hear the emulator doesn't work very well. I have a Kindle Fire (which is terrible) and I was going to use that, but Amazon disabled the dev mode. Are you pretty sure Google won't have done the same to the Nexus? I imagine that would be counter-productive to them but I want to be sure before I order the thing.

PS Claghorn, let me know when your app is available!

I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of the nexus line is that it's for developers mainly

I ordered mine today also! Very excited!! But I didn't see any mention of the $25 dollars promised for the play store..

The $25 Play Store credit apparently shows up once you sign into your Google account on your Nexus 7. You go to buy an app or whatever, and simply select the different payment option that I think is called something like Play Balance or something to do with Google Wallet
