Root [Avail] [ROM] one.three [kernel1.0 included plus video fix] (update Apr 12)

Is everything fixed and working on the one.three ROM? I am planning on flashing it tonight but have read SMS/MMS wasnt working and slow sleep mode times etc...
I am flashing it on a ZTE Merit Straighttalk phone and wanted to make sure everything was on the up and up before I go forword!

The wife would have a shit fit if she wasn't able to text any longer!

I trialed and errored it myself! :) No one answered in 24 hours. lol
I flashed the one.three over the factory ROM that I had rooted and this is what I got.

-It was slower for some reason and said right off the bat that the momory was almost full alert. :( Before I flashed I had 30mb of room after the flash I only had 13mb :(
FYI - (I did NOT wipe/reset factory before flashing!)
- Internet would not connect - had an error message
- bars (wifi & 3G bars showed nothing) :(

Once I restored my backup everything was connected again with full bars!
:(

Not sure what was up but not good for me. Might check out one.two or MH's!

Anyone have any input of what may have went wrong based on my above post?
I would really like to flash a better ROM rather than having the stock rom on it.

I noticed less free memory too. Even with link2sd installed. As far as internet goes, you have to add the straight talk apn.

Wonder why there seems to be less memory? Maybe one should wipe/reset to factory and then flash the one.three rom. Maybe then you would see better result of internal memory amount. :( Don't want to have to reset back to factory and d/l and install everything again!

Mine is ZTE Merit 990G on Straight Talk.

Ok if I do so what exactlly does this do?
Do I do that from the clockwork mod menu, and do I clear it before installing the one.three ROM or after?

I don't think it matters too much when you wipe the dallvik-cache.

It seems to be a temporary fix at best anyway. I keep finding my memory eaten up and back down to 8-12 megs with the nagging "Phone storage space is getting low" in the status bar, with both, the one.one and one.three roms.

I tried applying the SU update at the market place, which is less than a meg and it was rejected by the phone for "insufficient space".

With the Merit, I find myself constantly wrestling with the phone in Titanium Pro for stuff to uninstall to get back much needed internal memory.

What morons at ZTE for deciding 150 megs of internal memory would be sufficient!
 
Motorhead, could you please direct me to the guide that explains the step by step on how to do this script procedure! I would like to not run into the problems that SquidlyMcNerd is running into! :) As much as possible!!!!

Apps you'll need:
Smanager (free or paid)
any root file manager

To activate the script:
1. Open script manager, it should have been included in the ROM.

2. Navigate to the init.d folder and select your desired script.

3. When the "shell initializer" comes up, leave it running as a script, tap the su and boot options amd click save.

4. Reboot and the scripts should run (showing a toast message that says "smanager ads has been granted superuser permissions")

5. When you want to shut down, use ROM Toolbox or recovery mode to wipe the dalvik cache then proceed with shutting down.

(keep in mind, these were written for my ROMs, so they already have this and the apps preinstalled)
 
Anyone know which kernel source was used for this ROM? I've been having problems pairing my bluetooth devices; reverting to the stock ROM makes everything normal again, but I do like the look/feel of this ROM. Anyone else notice bluetooth problems after flashing this ROM (besides the sluggishness that was earlier reported)?
 
I finally got this thing flashed to my AT&T Avail this past Sunday afternoon. I immediately fell in love with it, but my love affair was shore lived.

I didn't realize it but after flashing the ROM, my sound wasn't working. After flashing a different ROM and then flashing one.three back on, I was able to get my sound working; however, there is a huge delay when trying to place a phone call or send a text. In fact, sometimes the dialer app will crash without every actually dialing.

The other thing that I noticed was that when the sound wasn't working, neither did bluetooth or haptic feedback. Now that the sound works, so do those two things.

If only I could get it to where I can actually use it as a phone lol...
 
How would I fix the permissions in CWM? Do I boot into CWM with usb pluggedin? The reason I ask is that I booted into CWM and I don't see any options that scream "PERMISSIONS" lol

Also, I flashed back to stock, rerooted, installed titanium backup, removed a bunch of system apps and then installed a bunch of Go* apps...I lost soun shortly thereafter as well.

I can't tell at what point I lost sound though...eg after installing Go* apps or removing system apps. It would make a difference, I know... :)
 
I don't have access to my usb charging cord, but when I boot into recovery - I'm assuming that recovery = CWM - I only have 4 options: reboot, install update, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache

AFAIK, there are no submenus to navigate through.
