Root Awesome Android AOKP

you can but there would be no way to prove that in error came from the new build, since these are test biulds it's usually a good idea to do a factory reset at the very minimum if not even going a step further and formatting system

I do both to be safe I install every build but you guys all use different aspects of android so its good to have open testing. More bugs show up among a larger crowd. :)

I will look into the MMS issue and try to pinpoint it. I don't have service so I can't test.

It suddenly started working again after I updated my PRL. It didn't actually update the PRL, but the attempt seemed to fix the MMS issue.

So far, this is my favorite ROM for this phone.

You can't. After dialing the number for updating, MMS started working. I did mention that it failed to update, didn't I? Guess I should have been more specific... It failed to even attempt to update the PRL.

I'm guessing that I could have dialed any number and it would have fixed my problem.

ah, see i didnt realize there was a phone number you can call to do that, i was talking about the update prl function thats in a menu on stock roms. either way its not gonna work but i dont know how that could fix mms, thats kinda odd. what number did you dial?

OK, I apologise. I was mistaken. I come from MetroPCS and am new to the Sprint/Boost network.

What I did was dial *228. This gets you to the phone activation setup, not the update PRL function like MPCS.

It was the only number I dialed. Again, I think (because the phone was all of 30 minutes old) that dialing any number would have fixed the phone. I literally came home from the Boost store and rooted/recoveried/ROM'd before I even texted or made a phone call.

that works, i dunno how that would manage to fix picture messaging, but if it works it works, it would be nice to be able to just do it out of the box tho

Yeah, I agree. I'm curious to see if anyone else can fix the issue by making a phone call.

Perhaps my phone wasn't provisioned yet? I didn't have a 3G icon, but I was connected to Wi-Fi...

Beats me, then. Maybe a fluke non-sent MMS?

Im trying to think of what else I did after flashing, and the only thing I can come up with is a reboot.

Maybe I will reflash this and retry. I'm currently running AA non-AOKP.

AOKP does not seem to like Google chrome at all, chrome is incredibly unstable

Get me a logcat for the chrome crash. Paste it on pastebin.com and post the link here I will try to see what's going on.

Should have a new build in the morning with the built in superuser like AOKP 4.2.2 and still working on Bluetooth

It's not fully crashing- it does this static-y old-tv-between-channels type thing sometimes, jumps around the webpage while the page flickers (even when untouched) sometimes making multiples of the same images

I flashed it and it wont get past the boot screen.
Ive had it there for about 15 minutes. is this an update to the previous roms? I did a wiped cache, data, dalvik cache, and then flashed the new rom. is there another step i missed??

thanks in advance

Yeah shin, it wont get past the pacman screen. Ill wait some more and maybe it will boot up but this is the 3rd time ive flashed it. I dont think its going to boot up.

Ummmm.....yyyyeeeeaaaahhh!! Ditto here...gonna re-download also but uhh...yeah something is up sir! BUT I'm excited anyway!

EDIT:
Nevermind...factory reset worked for me
