Yes, battery life may not be the greatest, but like everyone is saying, we got all the nice features in this phone, that is something to be expected. I got 2 extra batteries that I can replace when my battery totally drains out. Now can you do that with the iPhone? Guess not! :p

The OP is the same guy that was saying he wouldn't buy the phone if he couldn't get a notification light that would blink for longer than 5 minutes, sounds like he's just looking for stuff to bitch about on this phone.

I find this thread laughable... I am getting about the same battery life with the EVO as I did with my iPhone 3GS...

Don't know what the OP was doing but I think it's pretty obvious he/she just wanted an excuse to not like the device...

I think its pretty normal to have to charge your smartphone at least every 24 hours to get it to 100%.

I always throw my phones on the charger when I go to bed. Then maybe throw it on the charger in the car or the office if I think it needs a little juice.

Haha premium data fee has nothing to do with battery life. That's all Sprint. HTC should be the one you talk to.

Go back to Steve and tell him all about it. He'll just tell you how many Ipads he's sold and other useless stats.

Fireace22,

You had mention about using the power saving settings? Where exactly is this on the phone. I can only getting about 4 hours on the phone before I have to recharge it again.

I can't see really any issues with battery personally... I have used it heavily as i am still setting up the way I want... I guess maybe because I am of different mind that "it gets low.. I plug it in" and it doesn't bother me to do that..

When I am work - I hook it to the laptop so it gets a slow charge .. if I am in the car - the usb plug goes into my radio (dual purpose of charging and listening).. I play with it while I am at home and then charge it at night..

I would be happy if I got 4 hours of me constantly draining it :D Ya.. been playing zenonia :D :D

i'm getting 7 hrs on my battery... @ home, with 0-1 bars, wifi (which uses hardly any power...?), constant msging and internetting... I see no problem with the battery life... And geting 25hrs is a problem???!!!

Now, I got my evo after work Friday, so I dont have my normal charge routine down yet, but I can honestly say the battery lasts longer than it did on my iPod touch.

Listen, the battery life IS pathetic on this phone - there's no denying it. You have to ask yourself if you're willing to deal with it or not.

No. Having it off the charger and only touching it twice (to see batt %) and seeing it at 5% the second time is.

It would take a couple of weeks of use to really see what were dealing with here. I will ride out the next couple of weeks . Although I think people are asking a lot of battery life out of a massive device.

Sadly, I don't have an EVO yet. But that does give me a chance to read the reviews on things like the battery so I can decide if I really want one.

I'm using a hero right now, and I can say battery life is very important to people like me who simply can not charge it during the day most of the time.

For those of you who work in an office or whatever, I know its all gravy for you, but I really don't understand why some people say things like " I just plug it at at work, at my PC or whatever and think it is the end of the problems.

I do construction, sometimes I can't charge it for periods of 12-14 hours, I would like to be able to use the phone and check out the things it was meant to do during the course of a day without being scared that it was going to die.

The battery is no worse than other high-end smartphones (I'm not comparing to an iPhone for I a) have never owned/used one and b) I don't consider it high-end).

"...bad signal strength or left something on."

That's the truth, folks. I've been lucky and had the phone for a couple of weeks, now. It was a battery eater the first few days for I didn't have it "tuned." It comes out of the box for maximum features, not maximum battery life. You have to make choices.

The biggest problem I had was not realizing that the default email mode was push which meant the phone was always in a higher-power mode so it could respond to the incoming emails. Nice feature if you need it, but I don't. Turning this to pull at 10 minute intervals solved most of my issues. Having no signal will kill you, too. I lost about 40% of my battery in less than two hours when I was in a lab in the middle of a building with no signal. This is a long-time issue (all of my phones I've ever had did this) but it would be nice if Android would pop up a message "no signal for 10 minutes; shall I turn the radio off?" That would be nice, huh?)

May I remind some people in this thread (not everyone) that bashing is not tolerated. If you don't like it then just move on to the next thread.

I've been off the charger for almost 8 hours. I've had GPS on for the past 4 hours and I've had Wi-Fi on for about 30 minutes. I have streamed some video, made a few texts, browsed the web (plus Facebook and Twitter), and I downloaded Urbanspoon trying to find a place to eat. I'm at 61% battery life left. I'm very pleased.

Luckily, with the current economy you should have more free time to charge the phone. And if you are lucky enough to have work, you can have a spare battery to swap out if you need to.
