Accessories Best Incredible [Full] Screen Protector

Steinheil's scratch. Clairvue's scratch...they all scratch. I have had both on either my incredible or motodroid. I am rocking the Clairvue antiglare on my incredible now. i like it, and i get two for steinheil's one. I had a phantomskinz or whatever it was called on my HTC when i first got it because that is all that was out...i hated it due to the feel. imo, of course...

i've been using the clarivue crystal clear - i guess it's working, but scratches easily. good thing they gave me two of them. i'll try another brand next, i don't like the U shape around the optical joystick.

They are all honestly about the same. I went with Clarivue because they give you two for the price of one and have a lifetime warranty.

I would be surprised if any picking the Steinheil Crystal Clear's has tried the Boxwaves CC's (could be wrong), but it is "clear" why the Stein is 1/3 the cost of the Boxwave's.

That being said, I am going naked. None of the clear options (Stein, BW, VZW) made me 100% happy with swype and none of the AF/AG options were acceptable on the Inc's screen (to me). So, for the tiny bit of extra "piece-of-mind" a screen protector would have provided, I think I will pass, atm.

I went with Martin Fields Overlay Plus. They are kind of spendy due to the 2 day shipping from China. Awesome screen protector. It is the cling apply type so no mess. It does however get a lot of smudges, BUT when the screen is on you cannot tell.

I've had the ZAGG Invisible Shield on my EnV Touch for a year now and it is still scratch free. I plan to go with Invisible Shield again for the DInc.

in all seriousness...why do you say that? having had 3 different kinds on different devices, i was wonder what your thought was on why. they all scratch. Does one (anti-glare) have less haze??

Here is my review on the Clarivue. Let me add to the list of complaints the fact that it doesn't "surround" the optical trackpad, but merely has a "U" cutout leaving the glass below it uncovered.

I've been using the ZAGG on my ipod touch for over a year and it's still close to perfect. The corners started coming up but I just cut them off.

I ordered the ZAGG again for my Dinc (still waiting for it). Couldn't pass up the 50% off deal they have going today. $10 shipped for the front protector.

I would recommend Phantom Skinz to anyone. I haven't tried any other ones but also haven't had the need. Theyre a little time consuming to apply, but are definitely worth the hassle after this.

The feel is great (swype works great with this), and any scratches or marks 'heal' themselves after a period of time.

I use the black verizon silicon case, and my only gripe is that if i have to take off the case and put it back on, two of the corners of the phantom skinz protector will form bubbles. This is not that big of a deal though as they can easily be 'ironed out' with a credit card or something similar.

The *best* screen protector is whichever one meets your needs. Expecting a consensus or a conclusive answer here is a bit silly.

Also, there is no *best* phone, whiskey, car or whatever else you are considering buying. We all have different habits and tastes.

What ever you like best :)

I've used 6 different ones (zagg, stein cc and af, boxwave af, seidio, and veriz) in the past 3 months and the Steinheil CC is the best so far. The seidio is 2nd.

As some other have said, they are all probably good. Personally, I prefer the one that goes on easiest and probably would not use one that required some liquid to make it stick. I went with the Steinheil crystal clear and it seems to be fine. I read enough comments to learn before I installed: really clean screen, really clean hands, clean dust free surface for installation, have a blower handy to blow away any dust, punch out the hole for the trackball and take your time. I put the Steinheil on upside down at first, not realizing there was a tacky side. It went on fine 2nd try, and I was able to squigee out the air bubbles. Took maybe 10 minutes. It came with 2 in the package, so I have a replacement if needed. I have used mine for a couple of weeks and no scratches. I wipe it off with a soft cloth or against my shirt and it seems to be fine. All of these are plastic and will scratch if exposed to abrasives, keys, coins etc. I never used a protector on any of my Palm phones in 10 years and never had scratches, but having the protector adds a little confidence I guess .

ghost armour.

cost about 15 bucks for the screen and the install at bestbuy (locally at least)
get a lifetime warranty.
They let me use my droid screen warranty to cover my incredible.
all are cut precisely for phones. dont scratch, dont peal, and they smooth out by themselves.

I have used the same warenty to cover all my phones. :)

I've read through many topics and this is what I'm giving up my posting virginity for. I'm indecisive on what to choose for my Incredible (which hasn't arrived yet). Apparently the Steinheil gets damaged easily but others give it rave reviews. I'm quite interested in the Zagg screen protector but I can't find much info on it.

Any ideas on what the best protector would be? Possibly something clear please, I'm not really into the anti-glare, reflective or anti-fingerprints.
I hope you don't talk like that in real life.

There is no "conclusive" best screen protector. Some swear by Steinheil. Some love Zagg. Others think Clarivue are the "best". Still others like Phantomskinz.
+1.

Hands down the best screen protector is the Retail box it comes in. Yes you heard it hear folks, if you worry about scratches then leave it in there and BAM! Never a scratch!

lol, on a serious note i use the ZAGG protector and like it so far. It does have a little bit of resistance but i don't mind. When the screen isn't on you can tell it's there (If your a car guy you'll notice it looks like orange peal) but it's hardly noticeable while turned on. It does seem to catch the corners of the VZ car mount, so i'll be sanding down the plastic so it doesn't catch the protector.

What are you all protecting your screen from, exactly? Do you keep your keys in your pocket with your phone or something?

No, but you never know what can happen. It can drop on a rough surface, accidentally be put in a pocket with sand, keys, or coins, be placed face down on a table that has some sand/pebbles on it, etc. For the small investment, why risk it? A few people had noted scratches early on, so the screen does not appear scratch proof, but merely scratch resistant.

Steinheil Crystal Clear

/close thread, seriously

Sure if you like dust under the edges and ultimately edges that won't stay down. I had it on for a week and loved the feel and clarity but peeling off after a week just isn't good.

i have had the boxwave crystal clear for about a week and love it. i got it because i was a scared of wet application. i have nothing to compare it to except the VZW's though
