Ok this is what I've done since I was last able to post.

Was able to perform a factory reset since we last communicated and got in fine. Had no gapps, and saw that ROM Manager was pre-installed. Used ROM Manager to install Gapps (seems to have worked). After that, I was able to see the market app etc. Was able to restore most but not all of my apps.

So now, messing around I clicked on the torch and it just constantly fc. So, before I go any further, is it normal for the torch to fc? Or, should I just redo everything and install the monster.zip and then flash the latest nightly? Or am I cool for now.

Not going to tweak my phone any further till I hear back.

Also, does jrummys app work with this? Can I oc with it? How about things like screebl, and lightflow etc.

from what i understand it doesn't work at all right now...hopefully they can get that working soon...

i can't remember who it was off the top of my head...but someone just created a slightly modified version of CM7...and it works on that ROM...
 
Great! Got mine to work. One last problem! I promise...

So I tried to get my apps from Android market restored. However, it's not doing it. I tried clearing the cache for Market also, but that didn't work.

If there is no other way to restore it... is it possible to clear the Market profile? I realize that some of the apps that I've installed previous is still listed as installed despite being uninstalled. I would rather start from scratch without the Market.android.com webpage telling me that I have certain apps installed when I don't.

Good, I'm glad you got it going. Torch does not work, I use Quick Clock Advanced to OC and I do not use screebl and lightflow.

Droid Overclocking does work with this, however it will not load your settings on a reboot, you just have to apply them if you reboot. One note a lot of people have had worse battery life while running this, myself included. I switched to Quick Clock to undervolt my phone. I have not seen a reason to overclock it yet as it runs great.

I also use QCA to set the stock clock speeds at lower than stock voltages, it's fast enough where I don't feel like it needs to be OC'ed.

Is QCA free or paid app? I seem to have completely lost data connectivity for some reason. Going to try a factory reset to see what's up.

I was losing data connection because of root call blocker. I used the data toggle in the power control widget, but I've heard you can toggle airplane mode too. Haven't had any problems since freezing that app. But, droid overclock makes it stutter right when it gains root access. Maybe you have an app causing it?

I use root call blocker too. That must be it! Damn, I love that app too. Hope the issue can get sorted. Have you contacted the dev of that app!

If I wipe everything I can just install CM7 in recovery? (im currently on SSX)

Can I get wiresless tether on CM7, SSX has it preinstalled..

Thanks - Im looking forward to going back to CM& and giving it another try!
 
yes, just wipe everything and flash the latest nightly and you are golden. I have not seen, nor paid attention to any wireless tether app on CM7.

You will need the premium version to download the Nightlies.

Wireless tether works fine in CM7, I've tried it, I personally would only use it in an emergency though.
 
I've asked this somewhere else, but while on the subject of wireless tether.....I do pay for tethering, and as I don't have the hotspot app on CM7 is wireless tether my only option?
 
Doesn't look like #16 has any changes as of yet and cvpcs said that the 1% stats have not been built out. Guess I'll stick with #15 for a while.

I read the log sheets and see that supposedly the mms is fixed, but its not (still have to load the mms fix every day.) the camera and video has been a known issue since day one, but no mention of the fix for that, either. Again, a repair file has been made, but not incorporated into a nightly. I'm not wanting to sound bitchy or ungrateful, but how much more important is adding chinese language characters than fixing something hardware related?
Maybe I don't get it?

lol. I feel ya! haha. I dont understand it either. Hopefully soon. (nightly #30 :D) things will start getting fixed? lol

I remember some ROMs having 40+ updates with my Eris. I also remember the camera/gallery never really getting fixed on the ROM I used. I am not sure if there ever was a truly complete ROM built for that phone. Something always seemed to be missing or broken. It was more of deciding what you didn't need than anything.
 
Not just that stuff, but other simple things like email not pushing like it used to, getting messages hours later than I was on stock GB (sms/mms) and the phone not working sometimes is beginning to wear at my patience.
I do realize the devs are working hard and they do some amazing work, just some stuff should work solidly before releasing anything, even for beta testing.

well you have to remember...that since the DX is now part of the normal CM update tree it automatically gets update by the bots even if there are no specific fixes for the DX....cvps is not the only guy making updates so its likely that very often the updates will not have much to do with the DX

Glad that helped. I did send him email with error report and another letting him know the situation of it causing data lose. Hadn't heard back personally but he's done a cpl updates lately-just hasn't fixed this.

You actually need the free version installed as the premium is just a licensing key. :D
