Does changing your Vocoder from EVRC to 4GV really increase your data speed?
I have not noticed much of a difference.
How about you?

Yea, I have 3 different DSS proxys. They are:
DSS Proxys:

144.226.247.31 Original
74.125.79.104 Works
172.028.223.007 Works

I am using the original right now cause it was runningthe fastest last night.

I just changed the DSS PROXY from the original to 172.028.223.007 and got a 2MB increase! It really just depends on how many people are using the same proxy at the time I think.
 
another way to speed up your data is to go into multimedia and change the proxy address to 0.0.0.0
There is 2 addresses to change to 0.0.0.0
But make sure you do not, and I repeat DO NOT change the proxy ports.

First you have to find your msl code. There is a thread somewhere in this forum telling you how to do that. Ill look for it and post a link. Once you have your msl, you go to your dialer and dial ##3282#, click edit, enter your msl, go to advanced, and change the 3 Vocoders to 4gv
 
Do you think you will still be data throttled even if you change your proxy settings and removed throttle from system?
 
every since i have done this my phone won't browse it will download,go to google play apps and everything else so i change it back to the way it was and it still doing the same thing won't browse can somebody help me with this
 
I just wanted to chime in that vocoder is the voice encoder. Don't see how that could effect data rates.

Does MSL Reader work on the Warp? I forget, sorry.
 
Msl didn't work when I was looking for my code. I had to use logcat. But there are easier ways these days I would think
 
Changing the DSS proxy and the multimedia proxy are the main things that speed up your data. I'm not too sure about the Vocoder. I think that mainly helps the voice clarity.
 
Definition of Vocoder.
Vocoder

Short for voice encoder. A device that encodes and decodes the sound of human voice into/from digital format for transmission.

Different vocoder types may produce digital data of different bitrates (amount of data per second). Higher bitrates may indicate better voice quality, although more efficient vocoders can achieve high voice quality with lower bitrates.

Wow- changed DSS proxy, MM proxies and switched Vocoders to 4VG. Jumped from 190ish kbps DL and 100kbps UL to 909kbps DL and 190kbps UL!!!

It's like crystal meth for your phone.
