Root [Boost Mobile] Let's Start A Team ROM!?

I like what Osiris is doing. Lets make it all public. We just need to clearly identify what works and what doesn't along with what features we have added. I think Merc was going to start on some init.s stuff. My opinion now's the time. People can observe and test from the base up. I would say stock, but there is nothing stock about this hybrid base

Sounds good. Do you want me to make a new thread or do you want to do it since you are the one who built alpha and have a much better idea of what is going on?

and a digression: as far as init.d goes I think we should keep this rom as clean simple, stable and streamlined as possible. For example I tried chainfire gpu drivers and 16 bit transparency. It slows down the phone rather than boosts it. You mentioned you had it running some good scores as is so far. I think some minor simple stuff like dalvik heap and sqlite etc, but people get cooky and really just jam stuff up. Merc is super talented with this stuff though.
I would like to try and put as many of the build prop tweaks as we can into initd.
I really would like to port over that new gov from the latest cm10 build too. We would have to go into dm's github and get the source for his cm kernel and pull that out to port it. I want to try and do it, but i have never compiled a kernel. I want to get crazy and actually modify alien with dm's source. Are you familiar with this? Any tips on what I would need and a good place to start? Or do you think this would be fluff. I'm all about function, so anything i did I would want to have real results and be pertinent and useful, but i still want to play and learn.

I wont touch the phone or contacts apk, as far as mdpi icons go then. Building a custom kernel for this rom would be awesome. I personally have no expsriance with it, but if we are using DM's sourcses it shouldbgo fairly well. All that would really need to be done is to add the darkside governor to alien kernel. I did port over his new kernel to work with gingerbread, and had really poor results due to the drivers being intended for JB, so it would have to be a clean build.

Im a little pressed for time right now, so I can start a new thread later today unless you would like to put one up now.

Merc, are you still up for hosting the files?

Sure, no problem.

I think yeah we should start another thread once we have a beta or even. What do you think? Release it so people can kind of test as we build our just build until we have a releasable product that is a little more polished with more of our bells and whistles?

I think we should wait..I don't want to wear out the novelty of our builds before it's even done.

I agree. Let's get a base build working, then start a new thread and make everything public from then on.

...

Yep. :) Do we want PowerNap in this build?

You know what? Screw hiddenmenu! :D

ZTE Emode Helper

I've had the zte emode helper since the very beginning of my rom... I'm not sure it's the same version tho but I'll test em out and tell you whats what ... :)

I compared them both.... they have the same options however this doesn't replace the hiddenmenu... those options are not in there...

This is the one I had:

This is a development apk that works at 80%(development settings and google login service are no go):

This is a spare parts apk with more options than usual:

If you get a chance, could you take a screenie of the settings.apk menu? I I would like tp see what you have done to see if my contributions would be necessary. I have jellybean button toggles done.

Will do but its nothing special. I threw the hidden menu and CPU control into the main settings menu. Then I just reused the application settings icon for the new options. Its ugly, but it works for now. I'm going to go ahead and do a basic power menu with screen shot. External apps are pain on the warp

I have had no issue with them working. I just hate taking a screen shot and having to edit it so its not upsided down. I've only found one screenshot app that flips the image by defualt and it a trial version that's limited to 3 screen shots

I was gonna port them over from a Samsung rom, I'll post screenies when I get off work though

I'll take care of the icons :p

Tell me about it!! I edited every one of my screen shots earlier in this thread.;)
Major pain in the

I may be missing something here, but the screenshot feature we integrate into our ROMs' power menus works without flipping anything... couldn't this be used?

It does. I was grumbling about market apps. I was going to do a basic power menu with screen shot and purge the mdpi images when I get the time

I removed the MDPI iimages from the framework-res and added the extended power menu. I also put place holders in the init.d and init.d2 folders to make things a little easier

We are not responsible if you damage you phone flashing this rom

Alpha2

Dizzel here is the screen shot of the settings menu
