Root [Boost Mobile] Let's Start A Team ROM!?

Hidden menu!

If the hidden menu is a deal breaker I might be able to make it work. I think its dependent on sprint.jar. if I add that to the framework and make another edit to the ramdisk it should work. I don't have the time tonight but might be able to get another test build ready tomorrow evening

That would be a deal breaker for me, but I'm not the only vote. However it would be super awesome if we could get it working in pmi!

If I decomlie hiddenmenu.apk and then run grep on com.android* that should in theory point me to all of the hiddenmenus dependencies. Just thinking out loud. Any thoughts?

Lol ok I need sleep.

So for the sake of making a decision... I'm one of those people who like to get things moving. I think that because we have two roms that are so close performance wise, and factoring in that we want something unique and it appears that we will have hidden menu pretty well functioning...

Can we agree on b07?

I'm not trying to micromanage but rather get us moving forward as a lot of us are pretty excited and I don't want to see this project get lost in the land of indecisive procrastination. We are on such a role and I think the energy and work is better put forward to the actual production than the phase before.

Can we get a vote or group decision between between our main testers, devs and themers?

Hiddenmenu isn't working yet. Ill crack into it tonight, and if I can get it up and running I will post a proposed alpha for alliance rom.

With 4 to 5 devs and a themer in the mix this rom is going to be a few weeks in the making regardless of which base we use. The end product however should be awesome.

Right...but let's just pick a base already. It might take a little bit to get a final product out but it's no reason to not make a decision. If it's the case that no matter what we pick that the project will be awesome then that's an even better reason to pick one.

If we don't pick one by the end of the day I'm out of this project. At this point I don't even care about hidden menu.

Qcrilhook.jar and qcnvitems.jar need to be edited to get the hiddenmenu up and running. At least that as is far as I can tell from logcat. I am not opposed to B08, but I do beloved that PMIB07 will make the better end product. If we don't use it here I can still use what I've learned to improve B08

give just three more hours and I'll have the b08c posted up for a test... if hiddenmenu could work on the pmi-b07, i would vot for the b07...

What does the hidden menu do?

It makes menus inaccessible.

J/K

If accessed the hidden menus open up options that cannot be accessed through normal settings such as particular servers ports proxies vocoders and addresses that can speed up and stabilise mobile data and call transmission considerably.

I now have a working hiddenmenu.apk in PMI B07. There is no dialer access, but the activites we will need for this rom will end up being integrated into the settings menu anyway. Shall i cook up that alpha for a base?

Let's do it! I'm calling this official. this is our base.

:)

Celebratory virtual high fives to everyone! And thanks to the testers and devs for bases.

After we get the alpha down we just need to figure out who is doing what. I'm pretty excited. Thanks Jim!

That's awesome! but strange that ##data# doesn't bring up the menu.... it would try to bring it up when i had it in the b07 but would force close immediately.. I'm down for the pmi-B07 and keep all your tweaks documented for the release of b09 when it arrives...
Nice work Jim! :)

You guys probably think I'm a pain in the ass lol. I just want to to get the rock up the hill sowe can tip it and let it snowball. This Rom is going to be the ultimate gingerbread Rom! Between all the talent and ideas and skills I think we are going to have something to be proud of and something anybody with a warp will love to run.

Nah. We'd would just have to port a dialer that supports hidden menu. It's the same deal in ct. Well just make a shortcut like I did with halo Rom to hidden menu functions. It takes like 20 mins.
