Root [Boost Mobile] Let's Start A Team ROM!?

I'm not getting good results on b08c... i never worked with it from scrtch before... ill take pmi_b07 over bst_b08c any da... you guys did some amazing stuff with a borderline unstable stock rom... still getting somewhere.. and i think i just got application data to stick on first boot...

Well, we need a base to start with, without that, nothing can move forward.:)
It's really up to you guys to choose one. :D Your the dev's;)

If I have to I will retest a rom or two, Let me know if you guys want the data. I will do it for the team!!

What kind of numbers are we getting from PMI? Also, on a loosely related note, I'm not getting that dramatic of a score increase from disabling various services... maybe just a couple hundred points, if that. Not worth the potential lack of functionality in my opinion. I'll keep researching, but we're probably better off just tweaking the crap out of the Dalvik VM via build.prop later on.

Do you mind giving B07 and B08 another go. I figure real world settings 122 1.8 smartassv2 noop

Let me know what you want me to do, Test or no, Believe me, It takes a few to do all this work and then restore the phone back to a daily driver. I will do it, screenies and all. But I want to be sure you guys want, and or need the data first. :D

EDIT: I keep telling you guys SmartassV2/ Sio is the best setup.:)
But, give me some solid protocols to follow, roms, then lets get some more data.:)

What I'd like to see is this. Every stripped-down firmware version base we currently have (What are there, four now? PMI07, B07, B08, B08C - am I missing any?) tested as follows: governor set to Performance, I/O scheduler set to Deadline, minimum and maximum speeds set to the highest available and airplane mode on. The test should be run three times and the scores averaged to eliminate variance.

I realize these are far from real-world settings for most (all?) of us, but if the ROMs are measured in these conditions there should be no reason we can't get good performance out of other settings as well.

I'm not making a demand by any means, just saying if you're up for it, I'd appreciate it :)

The B07 zip I submitted is PMIB07 I should have been more clear about that. Its in the mid 5700s

I'm going to see ignition can squeeze a little more out of it. I found I few things I forgot to edit in the ram disk.

Here are my results from the first test of tje second base of PMIB07. The ramdisk edit made what first looked like a minor difference but then the rom came to life after further testing. Settings were 122 1805 performance sio. It should be noted that during the 3D portion of the test the rom hit 9.3fps. Second test hit 6070. Third test hit 6053.

Test #1

Test #2

Here is a link if anyone else would like to give the PMI base a run

I don't think we have a Boost B07

With the scores I am getting out of the PMIB07 base I think I should tweak it and see how hig of a number I can hit. 6000s with no init.d or build.prop tweaks. This has the potential to be the fastest warp I have ever seen. I would have posted more screenies but it's a pain in the a$$. Run it for yourself you won't be disappointed.

run test2 from post 259

Will definitely do!

I think PMIB07 has alot of potential, but the majority of us seem to want B08. With the close results I can't argue, but I'm almost sure that omitted can hit 6200

Which one is more stable? Speed is great and all but I really am more concerned with stability if they are neck to neck with speed. Also what about hidden menu on pmi?

Hey... nothing can be worse than Boost's firmware! :P

We already got that thing stable... this should be a piece of cake.

Also, the forum's seen tons of Boost-based ROMs. Let's go for something that isn't commonly done :)

Hiddenmenu.apk does not exist on the pmi rom, but the same settings that are in that apk have to be somewhere in the pmi rom. As far as stability goes I ran the test base for a full day tweaking it as I went without one fc or any other type of incident. I have noticed that a lot of the build.prop tweaks we all know and love actually slow down PMIB07. In a process of trial and error I have found a few that do work, and with read ahead and swap form merc's rom I hit 6116. I am sure with a little more work we can hit 6200, but that will require going deeper into the system. I admit that the PMI version will take longer to develop, but I think it has the potential to be faster than anything boost has given us
