well for public mobile the prl is changed durring activation when dialing *228 and that only works if you are on the home network so there is low risk... not like the boost roms the vdmc.apk kicks in at first boot and screws everything up....
Note: the public rom does not have a vdmc.apk or a activation4005.apk those files are the ones that cause prl issues on the public phones...

I recently found an issue with my phone as result of using boost software on my public phone... it seems there was a update somewhere because a software/hardware conflict made it so that i could no longer scale my processor speed(stuck at max always) and it leads me to believe that maybe flashing the public rom may cause a unknown issue with your phone... i was able to get my cpu to scale again by reloading my stock rom so that being said, if anybody wants to try this there is a certain amount of risk... looking into it and i'll let you guys know...

On the prl side all we need to do is use a sprint prl it has roaming.
But our rom doesnt allow it.

I can't remember, but I think we were able to roam on the BB's. I had a blackberry curve that was on 1X EVDO, And it had a roaming setting. Boost Mobile.

I had the boost BB 8330 too and remember a setting in the menu for roaming as you mentioned. I can't honestly say if it actually roamed or not though. Glad to be rid of it! BB OS 5 had the memory so clogged up it was practically useless.

Well, if it was sprint, and this is boost, this is much better. I couldnt stream Pandora going down the road in my pickup. After one or two songs it'd get stuck on buffering x.x

My BB sucked quite badly, I finally gave it up for a Prevail, then lo an behold!!! Here comes the ZTE WARP!!! Had to have one of the first ones!!! Still have the same phone!! believe it or not!!!:smokingsomb:
