Oh nice and i know itll b a while and yea tons of files to rework so just lettin it b known im alwaays ready to try new shit

I just tested HB8 T3 and MMS works fine for sending and receiving. Thanks!

Also, please can you include a file explorer (any one will due, doesn't really matter to me). This way if I don't have data access, I can still do things like install apps, without going to the Playstore first. All the apps I use are already on my SD card anyway.

I used a titanium backup apk from hb7 and installed to my phone since I didn't have access to data... so I know what you mean. Yeah, I'll include a file explorer in a flashable that I'll make for less experienced users. It'll have add ons for the rom to get newbies started

I know this may not be quite root oriented but but since my warp is rooted with alien kernel (still stock ROM) all of a sudden in the past few days been having a problem where I hear people on the phone but they cannot hear me talking. I have found my self having to quickly get to a land line to contact these people. It doesn't seem to be happening on all calls but it does get me concerned that phone may be failing. (I'm assuming its a phone issue not a service issue)
I've never owned a "smart phone" before this Warp so I really cant compare but may be after a year and a half almost maybe the phone is dying?
I've been intrigues by the S3 but just no way do I have $400 for a phone. thought I saw something about refurbished phones on Boost Web site but not sure if that's such a wise idea.

It's a problem with the phone's speaker, its sooo weak. I've done everything possible to boost it but not much helps. One member named PattF was able to fix it... however PattF doesn't have any of his/her work online anymore so that's lost forever... it was called SimpleROM, and I used to have a copy of it but my hard drive fried and I lost it forever :( so until we can find a fix then we're just gonna have to use headsets or deal with the low volume issue somehow :/

interesting just ran an experiment and I dont know why this is happening..I tried a set of ear bud/microphones..they worked fine..then made a call without them and the person on other end could not hear me while I did hear them..however if I activate the speaker phone on the warp both sides can hear each other fine

Everything works in the rom... a reboot fixes most issues like that, for example while on a call a few updates back, my proximity sensor stopped working, a reboot fixed it. The phone has issues with RAM, and I'm trying to get things cleaned up so that these little issues don't come up. Of course, the phone was up for about 94 hours without a reboot.

EDIT: I've noticed most of these issues are centralized around the Phone/Dialer... so I guess thats a place to work on for my next release in a few months :)

I've been having the same issue. I'm on a different ROM but the same kernel. Occasionally regular microphone works fine but usually I have to go to speaker phone. Personally I've kinda gotten used to it and default to speakerphone for all calls. This is occasionally annoying but at least everybody can hear everybody.
There had been an audio routing issue in the previous versions of this kernel and it was fixed at one time, now its just kinda wonky.
The kernel author (dm) is in the lab working on a newer version however so when its ready we'll see.

Hey Skinny. First and foremost great job on your rom. I've installed a couple of versions of it over the past months and liked it. Although with HB8, I've had an issue with mms. I can send and receive just fine (pics as well), but for some reason, on occasion, my notification sound won't go off. The text will be there waiting and the LED will be flashing which is how I know there is something waiting to be read or seen. It might be my phone is dying cause I've flashed almost every rom available for the warp in the past year (poor little bugger). Keep up the good work!

P.S. Thanks for the welcome earlier. :)

HB 8 is installed!!!!!
BUT I don't know how to: Clear cache/ dalvik cache before rebooting. Hard to wait... hope you're around :d

EDIT:
WTH... rebooting...

GASP!!!
Is this the same phone??? Is it really 4G now?
SJ, you are the best!!!
Thanks for all your help as well as for HB 8!
I'll be back a lot to find out what a lot of these features do. It's way beyond what I imagined!

EDIT:
Yes, it's gonna be an all-nighter
:D

EDIT2:
All my old apps seem so rinky-dink now

Nah, it's just an issue with stock mms. I don't think it can be helped, unfortunately. Although, it does happen rarely for me on every alternate messaging app that I've ever tried

I've been tethering fine until version 8. Anyone else having this problem? I installed barnacle WiFi because I know that would work otherwise and I get a DHCP failed to parse 8.8.8.8\par I really need my tethering when at work. Other than that everything is working fine, including MMS.

Congrats on finally getting your Warp rooted! :congrats:

As per clearing the cache/Dalvik cache...if you are using Clockworkmod then one is right underneath Factory reset and the other under the Advanced choice. I don't know if it makes a difference if you do or don't clear them as I have always done so. :)

As far as 4GLTE? I like to believe it is. :p

Sorry for the late reply, I have a bad dose of real life with a side effect of high school... bleh homework should be illegal -__- seems like you're enjoying the rom! :) unfortunately, this isn't really 4G. I just made it so it showed 4G LTE instead of 3G because be honest which one looks better and which one do you see more often nowadays? :D

You should test picture messaging to make sure that data works for you, if not then we'll help you get it up and running :)

As for the features, there's a lot different from what you're used to (even the Easter egg when you tap on the android version repeatedly), so it'll take some getting used to. But again if you need help with something, just post in this thread and either me or another fellow member will try to answer your questions :)

It's much better than the zombie-egg :)

As for high school, it's clear that you've got a great future in the works. Unfortunately you have to accumulate those papers to get there ;)

EDIT:
Well don't I just sound my age! Anyway, it's not like you haven't heard it before...
I've got questions, but am too fried to remember what they are. Will check in later when more peeps are around

Hmmm not really no but it is a way of modifying firmware
Thought it must be something along those lines.

I've backed up most of my apps & data with Titanium Backup. Should I also make an image with nandroid? If so, would it overwrite my other image? I want to keep the one that has the recovery before rom was installed just in case.

Yeah, you should make an image to stay on the safe side. It won't overwrite the other one, it'll make a fresh new one. The images copy your system and data, not the recovery. The recovery is on its own separate partition, and it can't back itself up.

If you are using Clockworkmod to do so, then the answer is no. It will make a separate image. Keep in mind that it does take up a lot of space on your memory card.

So anyone experiencing tethering problems?

I didn't when I was running HB8. Worked like a charm.

So anyone experiencing tethering problems?

No tethering problems on my end... I did have an issue in an older release, but it only happened once. It was probably network related.

EDIT: Just saw your post GChild :D you should answer questions for me when I'm not around :)
