@17618: I don't suggest downloading through anything other than wifi, because like the others said it'll corrupt the file and you WILL MOST DEFINETELY expirience problems with the rom after flashing, if it flashes at all.

@rickpcb: I'm probably going to host the final version of Halobean on devhost, although I don't have internet atm so I can't upload the rom or anything. In fact the finished copy got lost :( shouldn't be too difficult to redo everything though, I just need to update some apps again, add wifi tether app, remove the menu setting, and then rebuild and upload. It'll be a couple of days.

Hey guys, this time its definite: I'm moving on to the Moto G in maybe a month or 2-3 weeks :D I'll still finish up with the rom add-ons, like the custom emoticons to change them out in the mms app, powernap versions that merc made to be compatible with the rom, and maybe some other stuff and resources for aspiring devs :)

SkinnyJeans21, thank you for the great advice. I'll have to wait until I can get to my daughters and use her laptop. My home was broke into and they cleaned my clock..left the pc..took the cantana..
I cant Thank You enough for your time you give..A very grateful 17618

Skinny, you need dropbox or devhost LOL

Forum says I can't attach a pic, needs to be 640x0 and I need to manually resize it - but hit me up - copy isn't helping you... I'll mirror it on my servers if needed... Chrome is blocking downloads from Copy...

I'll second that! I have a webserving account on which I will be hosting my OS, so if you need anything made available to the masses I can break you off a chunk of my unlimited bandwidth lol

Chrome is actually blocking the download saying it is malicious. I uploaded it to my server and download from there and it's fine... it must be something that copy does, maybe with their ads?

Yea mine did that to i just had to go to my downloads in the browser settings and trust his download link and itll work fine

I think what I'll do is keep everything on Copy, but the latest on dev-host for everyone. If someone wants an older version so they can work on it, then it'll be on copy where most of my storage space is

More than happy to host old stuff on my server... just let me know...

I will, though I use Copy because its much more convenient in case of a data loss which has been the case as you all know. Just install copy and poof all my files pop up in my computer ready to go again... but if I end up running out of space (which probably won't happen soon) then I'll let you know so that users can continue to download :D

Were can I download hb 5.0.4 link doesn't seem to work when downloading says waiting...... no progress

It should work just fine... I'd reupload but I don't have home internet at the moment so I can't check and fix it. If someone else has a copy, they can mirror it and I won't have a problem with it at all :) as soon as I get the chance I'll take care of the link issue, thanks for letting me know :D

For those wondering, I'm only able to get on here through mobile data... no more than 2 bars out of six in this complex. As soon as I leave, full bars everywhere... so hopefully since I'm moving this week to a better area I'll be able to work on finishing the rom again :)

I'M BACK FROM THE DEAD MUAHAHA

Got my internet back :)

Now, I just need to redownload a few things, decompile settings and remove a few lines of xml, add the Wi-Fi tethering APK which works absolutely great, rebuild, and should be good to go with the rom :) dunno how long that'll take me, since I have to reinstall another linux distro (I'm NOT about to set up Cygwin again--YUCK) but after I do it should be smooooth sailing for this rom

Nice and yea cygwin is rediculouse lol so whats next on ur agenda????? U gna build us a jb rom? Or.........sumn better?

I was thinking I'm gonna learn to build aosp, starting with CyanMobile or CM7 because some people prefer aosp gb to jb (I prefer gb sometimes). Problem is, I need to fill up the hdd slots in my desktop first (5 empty sata drives, 1 expansion bay, 4 slots for ram upgrades). So I need to get another job and save up to upgrade my desktops hardware so I can build. So far I've been working on my laptop (650 GB HDD, 4 GB RAM, and dual-core Intel Core i3 @2.33 GHz with hyperthreading so its virtually quad-core, but physically dual core--still beats an AMD though :D). I can do stock roms, kernels, and apps on my laptop and probably cm7, but I won't ever be able to do Jelly Bean+ unless I erase my Windows partition. I may have a kernel in the future, which is what I really wanna learn right now. Especially after seeing all Dm and Phenom have done :o

i do know what u mean by prefering gb to jb i hated ics as far as filling up ur pc slots i have a shit ton of pc stuff borderline hoarding haha but i always have ppl askin for shit so i keep it around think i have a 300 gb sata drive and a bunch of ram stix am always open to get rid of things to make room for more lol so if u need or want sumn i might have it am a always down to give a hand were needed

Actually if I had 300 Gbs for a Linux partition I could build faster and more securely since I'm upgrading the software to my desktop and I wanna use it for building but THAT only has 500 GBs... on my laptop I only have 100 for Linux because the space fills up fast when cloning repos from github, installing Java jdk.. after all I did to set stuff up I was left with 20 gbs free space on my Linux partition. Do you seriously have spare hard drives???

EDIT: I hated ics too, some of the theming is a bit awful. Jelly Bean is more streamlined, and its not as slow as ics too :) actually... our jelly bean roms get much better performance than gingerbread does... its more fluid, but its all kernel which is why I wanna learn kernels, so I can make the perfect one for the rom and increase the performance more. I hate hearing about lagging in my rom cuz I know its mostly my fault, so I'm determined to fix that. Besides if I learn that maybe I can bring cm7 to Warp or actually help team Osiris instead of just being a tester :P

Yea i have a few hds actually for pc and laptops lots of ramstix to ill dig through boxes and pm u with what i got so if theres not clutter on the thread

But 20 gigs geeze talk about a sardien can damn......i honestly think if u can nail down kernel building then tje possibilities are endless and thats were im starting at lol straight to the hard crap go big or go home hah

And true the jb roms are smooth as hell but so is this rom i was actually debating even switching but i did but im a swither so ill deff b back i get bored easly and gladly test drive whatever u dish out

Sounds awesome :D and I wanna do kernel building cuz if I can then I can do more than just cm7 like it'll look good on a college essay or a resume besides I like learning new things especially hard stuff though I doubt it'll be soon... Maybe by the end of the year I'll have learned enough. I know a little bit but not nearly enough to port multiple roms in one night like dm already did :o the jb roms are actually smoother, you'll notice in the littlest things. Pull down the status bar in my Rom then do it in cm. There's a noticeable difference and it really gets to me sometimes like I think I can do better ans at least get the status bar to slide down more smoothly lol

i never noticed the sketchyness of the status bar till u said sum lol and dude ur way farthur along than me i litteraly just started reading and playin w android linux crap haha im a fast learner tho

but shit this roms sweet man really is!! also as far as kernels go talk about a mess lol

ALRIGHTY so as soon as I can finish setting things up on my computer, current changelog from last testing release is:

Remove Apollo and replace with Play Music (Apollo has a few kinks, GPM fixed theirs)

Add Wifi tether app

remove tethering options from Settings menu

some theme changes

change font to Jelly Bean Roboto (its slightly different from ICS Roboto)

clean some things up

update all apps

change some things in mms.apk (Its a really old version in there, but some things I wanna change in Messaging to make it more streamlined)

I think thats about it... then I'll release the Final and work on SkinnyHalo and just update all apps, clean things up, wifi tether apk, remove from settings, slim some things down, and then release. I want SkinnyHalo to be just that-- Skinny or slim for speed and stability. After that... hopefully I can learn a bit of aosp while I throw in some add-ons for the rom/roms :D

Good news, all my stuff on copy is now syncing back to my computer. Bad news, I still need to reinstall more things before I can fully rebuild everything
