Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] Warp OEM 2.70

Not sure what this does???
I thought throttling was handled at the carrier level?
Thanks!

Well, I honestly did also. However, some users report noticing a difference when these functions are removed, so here it is :)

The main thing that makes me glad I took them out is that the wording of the name of one of the functions appears to indicate it could have been posing us a security risk, and that's something I don't appreciate in software I'm running every day.

And, at the very least, even if it does nothing to aid in not getting throttled by your provider, it's one less process running in the background - and we all can enjoy that!

I have a question if you flash the smoothness zip does it affect the overall speed of the rom?

Only slightly - graphics rendering does end up getting slowed down a bit to prevent the screen tearing you'll notice without the fix in place.

My advice: try the ROM without the fix, because the flickering isn't all that bad in my opinion. If you find it's too obtrusive for you, then flash the fix :)

Hey Merc! Beautiful job yet again. Is there anyway you could add a slide-to-input like swype keyboard in the next release? (Probably not swype since it's paid, but...) Anyway! Great job yet again. Best performance I've found on this phone, ever.

Oh! For future reference, how do you remove the fix?

After all the day running WarpOEM 2.53, with all my apps, must say this rom is something too fast, too stable too wonderful, too amazing, too... very dangerous, someone can have a heart attack :D:D:D
what had that beer?

Lol! Well I'm glad you've found it so intoxicating :P

But seriously, my main goal for this ROM was to capitalize on the hardware's capabilities and deliver an experience that is smooth and responsive, while not being overdone - there's no point of adding features just to add them because you can. Everything put into this ROM was extensively thought out to deliver exactly what you observed... speed, finesse and efficiency. After all, a device like the Warp deserves that much... not the kludge with which it shipped. ZTE should've never let it out the door in the shape it was in.

Your observations tell me I must've not come too short of my goals :D

Great rom, Merc! Flashed this guy yesterday and so far so good. I do get an occasional lag and I need to reboot, but, that's with heavy use so not too big a deal to me. Coming over from Tig's AlienWarp, another great rom, I kinda wish you could include his quick panel settings to change/remove some of the toggles and adjust things like the brightness on the drop down. Unfortunately, I flashed 2.51 and got all my apps up and running strong, so when I finished and seen 2.53 up, I wanted to smack myself! Lol.... anyway you could do just a flash to remove the throttle and update Superuser like the smoothness fix or do I need to start all over again? Thanks again for all the hard work on this ROM and of course, the best Sound Packs anywhere!!

Sure, I could make you a flashable for removing the throttle. Basically it'd be a 2.51 to 2.53 updater patch. I'm not sure I know what you're referring to, though, by the updated Superuser... let me know and I'll whip something up :)

I thought when I connected to the the Play Store it automatically updated Super User for me before I had a chance to disable automatic update... I was wrong tho, looked into it, I was wrong.... lol. So that would be awesome if you could do a patch!
On a side note.... We have the best dev's in the whole Forum! You guys are all quick to answer and more than willing to help out! Love you guys man!!

Got me all sentimental!! lol

Any chance u could port the notification bar from Halo rom

Thx Merc! I should be able to give you a heads up on the throttling question once and for all. I have less than a GB left and my next payment is due on the 22 of June!
