Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] Warp OEM 2.70

Hello,

Where can I ask questions about this rom? I cannot find things like where the installed wallpaper and alert tones were (they do not appear in lists) and how to add things like custom tones, etc.

Just ask in the thread for the rom. Mercury is a really good guy and he or most of the roms users can answer any questions you may have

Threads merged, better flow of information.:)

Everything still seems to be running very stable, so I'm happy. Solid work!

I see in the Known Issues that wifi tethering does not work. Yet in the Special thanks and v2.10 change log it says wifi tethering works. Is it supposed to work or not? I can turn on wifi tethering and connect a compuer or iTouch, but I can't get on the internet.

How do I install PowerNapv2? Why would I want to use the slower wake up feature over PowerNap2?

Any advice on a free email program that works with Exchange other than the out of the box one?

Thanks again!

First off, thank you! Glad you're enjoying Warp OEM :)

Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I guess I forgot to remove that known issue after I added that feature. The "Known Issues" section has been updated. WiFi tethering works perfectly now (thanks Jim!) so I'm uncertain of it not connecting for you... do you have decent 3G signal when tethering? Maybe that's the issue... perhaps some other users could fill in on this one? Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. :o

Warp OEM 2.53 comes with PowerNap v2 already installed. And to answer your question, you probably wouldn't :) Each version has its own strength, the original PowerNap wakes the CPU up a little slower but holds your processor a bit lower to save more battery. The new PowerNap lets the processor wake faster, but holds it at a higher speed (245MHz versus 122MHz in the first iteration) during screen off, so you may use slightly more battery. Overall, the difference is slight, and most folks thus far seem to prefer less wake-up lag over the incremental battery savings.

Looks like I can't be of any help on the email client issue... sorry! :o

Greetings, Nic, and welcome to Warp OEM! :)

I actually removed all the extra wallpapers and such from the ROM, so you'll have to apply your own using QuickPic or your favorite wallpaper app. Warp OEM also doesn't have any of the system default sounds; I replaced them all with my own from the Mercury Sound Pack.

If there's a high enough demand, I can make a flashable to add the factory sounds back in. :)

Wifi Tethering seems to be working now.

I tried K-9, but it does not work with Exchange hosted by Rackspace. I'm unwilling to pay for a mail app, but I may try the ad supported version of Maildroid.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

At least the built-in ad blocking of will negate most of the advertisements! :)

I'm back on this Rom, the latest update. Ad blocking is working, plus I also have ad free installed. :)
I tested this thing in it's early stages and was very impressed, now, I'm Blown Away!!! Wow Merc!! :D I mean really, WOW!!! :D

Well thank you! That says a lot coming from our foremost tester ;) One thing's for sure, the latest release sure beats the stuffing out of the 1.xx series! lol

I better let the dev's handle this one, Merc should chime in soon with an answer, but I think you should look in the buildprop folder? Can't remember right now.:(

I found this:

Throttle fix by hand (I used root explorer):

1-make sure u have ur data disabled or in airplane mode

2-go to root explorer

3-change r/o to r/w(at the top of the screen.

4-Navigate to Data/System

5-Inside Data/System you will find a folder named "Throttle"

6-Long press Throttle folder and select permessions

7-Change permissions to Owner: read and execute only, everything else should be unchecked.

8-when ur done with that press ok and go back to the Throttle folder

9-there should be two files in it(sumtimes only 1,and thats ok too)

10-delete the files from the throttle folder you are in

11-Back out of Data/System to the first menu you were in when you started root explorer

12-change r/w back to r/o

13-exit root explorer and reboot

14-once your phone is up and running, turn your data back on,then your good to go.

On the warp you have to decompile services.jar and then delete all other the throttle___.smali files. After that recompile services.jar and you are done.

Yep, what Jim said. The "by hand" procedure works to a degree, as it gets rid of the service's files and prevents it from writing output, but it will still be available internally. To eliminate it completely, you have to decompile services.jar and remove the aforementioned files. Then it'll be gone for good. :)

Hello All, I tried to use all of my data for the month to see if i would get throttled, mercury0x000d sure did an excellent job because I KNOW i passed the 3 gig mark and my data/speed never slowed down. I'm not suggesting that anyone tries this but it worked for me. I've been throttled in the past, i had received a message stating that i pretty much reached my data usage for the month and that they will slow down my internet speed. Well i never received that message since i upgraded to 2.53 and i LOVE it, like i said before, i'm not suggesting that anyone does it because it may not work for u, this was something i wanted to try. Either way this ROM rocks!!!!!
