Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] Warp OEM 2.70

I downloaded and installed OEM 2.53 it works grate but it removed my browser. do I have to install another browser, or how do I use the one from before. . also some apps came along with it like terminal and another supersu and sipersu browser I think, what do those do. and can I uninstall them if they aren't useful to me.?

Supersu is the program that essentially gives you control over your phone. You do need another browser, i would suggest either boat browser, one browser, or dolphin browser.

If you deleted the browser then just install another one (like Boat Browser from Play Store).
Do not delete supersu because this is a system app needed to grant permissions.
There are some apps you should not remove, be careful...

You're rooted, can make a terminator with your Warp if you wanted to, but it'd be really tiny and it'd probably just bite people and be a nuisance.

You can uninstall any app you want, Titanium Backup is an app that lets you do that or helps you with it :D if you wanna use the one from before I can give you a copy of the one in my ROM, I'll even make it flashable if you want.

i seem to have gotten throttled .. and some websites wont open anymore can someone help me?

If you didn't get a text from boost its probably just reception issues, they said they would be reworking the towers until the end of the year so that probably has something to do with it.

Super su is the app that allows all other apps that require root to have root privileges.:)
Root browser is a file explorer to look at all the files on your phone and sd-card. :)
Download any web browser you want from the play store, Boat, Dolphin, Miren, etc.:)

ooh okay i understand it now.. :)
i did saw that, it showed lots of files and my sd-card as well.
done :) browser workes much faster than before, im not waiting on the load bar anymore :smokingsomb:

thanks for all the help an info..

sadly yes :(
im going to try fresh clean install of Warp OEM tonight ,fingers crossed!

From what I understand, Boost keeps track of the data usage from their end, they dont rely on the phone to report it to them. There own servers do it. I personally dont think we can get away with anything for too long.:(

I could be wrong, but from what I've been reading across several Boost phone forums, we simply cant fool them. Maybe trick them, but in the end, they will find out:(

Yep, I did that on purpose. Since everyone is so divided on what browser to include, I went with the only logical choice... include none! lol

But seriously, though, you can feel free to install any browser from the play store you want and it'll work just fine. My personal preference is One Browser, but I'm starting to get the sneaking suspicion they're going to kill it with updates, like has happened so many times before with other good software... :(

My ROM doesn't have SuperSU, but instead has Superuser (they both do the same job) which I'd refrain from deleting. Root Browser is your file manager, which allows you to browse your SD card and system storage. If you won't use that or would like a different one, you can delete it without any other adverse effects, but many users find it handy to keep around. Depends how bare-bones you want your system to be.

I agree 100% :)

Always go for the latest version of WOEM, first of all. Then you may wanna try changing your governor settings, chances are it's ramped up to performance 1.8 gigahertz

i noticed that using voxer gave me major problems just recently, so i uninstalled it and the problems went away immediately. my wife was using the facebook app and from what i am told, the app slows down the phone and drains the battery, once removed the problems went away also. so instead of using the app i told my wife to just bookmark the site and check her messages the regular way, she has not complained since

Oh yeah I remember when I used to have voxer on CTmod I didn't even register I just had the app downloaded and I already had seen a hit in my performance and battery life ....

Atrium For Facebook is in beta, you can find it in the play store. It's a lot faster and doesn't seem to bog my phone down at all.

Ummm, is there like battery tweaks in this Rom Merc?
Cus I am getting some kind of superior battery life now!!
Kinda freakin me out!!

The main thing to note here is that you can't technically stop anything in Android. Just about every major process in the OS is linked with trigger "intents" which can automatically relaunch a dead app at a moment's notice - an activity that sometimes seems to happen more often than not. Some apps are just poorly designed (either by necessity or lack of programmer attention) and the very fact that you have them on installed automatically signs you up for a battery hit.

Thanks for tuning in. I'm Mercury Thirteen. And that's the way it is. (lol)
