The thing is I'm pretty sure I could offer some help... even if only to point the more experienced ones in the right direction.
I know quite a lot about the concepts we are speaking about here... just not how to implement them in android per se... I'm sure I could learn it...but there is just too much else going right now. Especially medically, I just found out today that the doctor I've already waited 3 weeks to see won't see me for another month. That just made things a hundred times more complicated.
I...don't know...I'm not gonna spill my sad story here lol. It's just really rough in my life and I'm sorry if I made anyone think I can do more than I could. I really probably could be of assistance... if everything else in my world wasn't in ruins.
Gonna test that. Also go sign this:
Petition Bring Jellybean to the ZTE Warp!
Btw DM, is the new frequency the max you can push it to? Like is it a hardware limit or just a limit chosen by you for purpose of stability/safety?
Reason I ask is I have some 720p WMV files which hardware acceleration doesn't work for. Also a few h.264 files that it won't work for either. There is just a very small amount of lagging of the video behind the audio in them at 1.8 ghz. I think at 1.9 they'd be flawless. Assuming that the cpu would be stable or will even go that high.
a vidc update in the kernel should fix it
Is that within your dev powers? I bet it is our you wouldn't have said it. I wonder though, I've never had it work on any WMV which are based on the VC codecs. That might not be supported at the chip level. But some h264 accelerates and some doesn't and there is no obvious difference between the files that do and don't as far as ref frames, resolution, profile, cabac, etc. So an update would probably fix that.
I've wondered before if it was possible to get hardware acceleration for 1080p on the warp. Obviously that much resolution is pointless on our screen but some anime I have digitally is 1080p and I really would rather not have to re-encode it. Dunno if our little adreno could handle it though.
Okay DM, I flashed your test kernel over warp oem 2.53 and it seems to be working flawlessly. I was able to set cpu minimum to 66mhz and max to 1.869 and everything that I can test is working. But of course you know I can't test calls or sms. Still it seems it was just being picky with my over customized alliance setup when I tried yesterday!
Had a long night of updates. reworks, backports, and additions last night. but this thing is gonna be sweeeeet.

Highest scores I've ever had on my Warp, anything else you want tested DM?
It was 61-1868 SIO/SmartassV2 on Halo Jelly ROM
Are you saying you were getting 61xx before and 82xx now??
I wish I had that much of a point jump! But my highest bench on my Warp before flashing was about 7289, after flashing the new test kernel it jumped up to this... thats about a 1k jump! I'm keeping it until I can make it crash somehow I wanna see how much torture it can take hah
EDIT: Oops, my highest bench before was 7549, so thats an added 722 points right there
