After doing the return to stock it wouldn't boot or recovery, I finally got it to boot to recovery after a dozen tries and installed TWRP... but if I try to do anything in TWRP like restore a backup it throws a million errors about how it can't mount this and that. So I'm gonna be in adb land trying to get the sorted for a while lol.

This may be a dumb question but here i go (lol)

Would it be possible to retrofit, or i guess in this case, port a GB Warp Camera driver to jellybean? If you can figure out how the stock driver (or even the ones in the various Roms on the site) interacts with the camera and makes it funtion, would you be able to then edit a JB driver to have data points to match?

It has been done... using a wrapper basicly to act as a middle man between the api`s..
HTC does it. This was originally suggested by konstat. I just don't know how to write a wrapper

Public mobile has by far the worst customer relations...getting in touch with someone who isn't completely incompetent is nearly impossible...but they're really nice about not knowing what they're talking about tho...:p


I'm still gonna check it out and see if I can find someone who can give a straight answer...

Hello my name is SmartManVartan, There is a large amount of your subscribers on the ZTE N860 that would like to receive calls and texts all the time as opposed to just sometimes... We would also love to have a newer version of android as it has been confirmed by ZTE themselves that the phone is very capable of handling ICS or even JB. That being said and having a pretty goood understanding of the android system, I can tell you with 90% certainty that the missed calls and delayed text issue is directly linked to a error in the deep sleep code. I think it's time for a two bird stone kill! Get ZTE to Give use ICS or JB and the faulty code will have to be rewritten anyway. This will make your customers happier! Some of us like myself have invested quite a bit of time and money in you! My first phone with Public was the "Buzz" I then switched to Android and Got the UMX Max(really the worst android you guys have) and then switched to the ZTE N762(which i still use on my second line with Public). Then I got the ZTE N860(Which would be the best phone on Public if it did not have the missed calls issue). I also had the Kyocera Rise and although the screen was smaller and I'm really not a fan of the slide out keyboard, this phone has no issues. So if you do the math some of your subscribers really do believe in your service. I myself have received over 100$ with the "friendship pays" program! Help us continue to believe in Unlimited.:)

Hey all just wanted to ask if anyone has figured a fix or work around for the wi-fi I tried the thread search and it Googled the net for wi-fi needless to say that was useless.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Good angle dude.

Also writing a wrapper is basically writing a translator. Someone who understands the api for both GB and JB well should be able to do it.my guess would be that such a wrapper would need to "dumb it down" for GBs less advanced api.

I feel like a butt head after saying I was gonna help and stuff and then I've not even looked at anything. There is just a crap ton of stuff in my life right now and I'm just not handling very well. Right now all I do with my free time is just try to give myself some sanity lol.

I did get my warp back alive. It relentlessly threw those errors that I was talking about no matter what I did. I got into it via adb and it didn't look wrong... just blank partitions. After that when I went back in TWRP it magically worked lol.

I know what you mean. I kinda did the same thing - offered my help, looked things over, tried everything I knew (or could figure out) how to do, saw nothing worked, realized I was way in over my head, and didn't really end up helping that much... I think I'd slow things down more than help them along. DM and Jet are two of the most qualified to fix Warp JB, so more power to them :)
 
I hate to ask but could you post a link to M2 if you still have a copy. If I remember right the usual stuff was still broken, but it was a usable JB
 
The thing is I'm pretty sure I could offer some help... even if only to point the more experienced ones in the right direction.

I know quite a lot about the concepts we are speaking about here... just not how to implement them in android per se... I'm sure I could learn it...but there is just too much else going right now. Especially medically, I just found out today that the doctor I've already waited 3 weeks to see won't see me for another month. That just made things a hundred times more complicated.

I...don't know...I'm not gonna spill my sad story here lol. It's just really rough in my life and I'm sorry if I made anyone think I can do more than I could. I really probably could be of assistance... if everything else in my world wasn't in ruins.
