Root [BOOT ANIMATION] [MOD] COA - Call of Android

Sigh. Sounds like I am going to just reflash our GB.

a reflash of gb? No thanks. Maybe it's just this specific animation. Is there a flashable original animation?

I've tried everything...still a black screen. I don't get it. I'm using the D2 bootstrap if that matters.

My bootanimation.zip file was actually in system/media file. The animation worked in both. Just moved the stock bootanimation.zip file to sd card and replaced with the CoA zip.

I remember having to extract the audio file from the R2D2 zip and installing to the system/media/audio file in order for it to work on the Eris. Has anyone tried this?

I saw that I had bootanimation is both locations as well. The stock boot animation was in system/media and the other was located in data/local. The mp3 from when I attempted to install propaganda with sound was located in system/media, so I deleted it. Still...I have no boot screen.

I did the same thing when I tried to flash the original version of this and ended up going to a back-up. When I did Bouchigo's updated zip it worked fine. There was talk by Bouchigo that when you applied the original zip file it would create a folder that once it was deleted it would work again, but I could never figure out what that one was.

The no sound flash file should still work. If not just do what the guy above said with the bootanimation.zip file. I made the flash file for idiots. But its childsplay to just drop the bootanimation.zip in the system/media folder.

will a factory reset in CW fix this? I wouldn't want to have to flash the old SBF, root, and then upgrade to rooted GB again.

I put the file in there...it still doesn't work. It may have to do with trying to install the file with sound first and having it fail. I've tried putting it in the data/local location and they system/media location....still doesn't work.

Okay...I had the rooted GB, tried flashing the one with sound and ended up with the red "M" and then a black screen before it would boot up. I tried putting the normal "bootanimation.zip" in data/local, same result. Just installed the deodexed/rooted version of GB (from the TBH app) over top of the rooted version on GB I had and the boot animation worked upon coming out of recovery. Not sure if that helps or not.

I had already warned you guys not to install the flashable zip with sound, but to install the flashable zip without sound or your bootani would break.

If you already installed the bootani with sound and broke your bootani, then no, it will not fix it......you have to replace the bootanimation info file in /system/bin with the original file to fix that.

Where is the original file located? Is it on the phone still somewhere or can someone please post it?

Well I SBF'd. Should be re-flashing to GB and redoing everything later today sometime. Will post results.

Yeah...I flashed the other one before I ever looked here...just stating what I did to correct the issue.

Extract it from the gbrooted zip file you downloaded from mdw, or wherever you downloaded it from.

That worked, thanks. I used root explorer to locate the zip, found the file and extracted it, then copied it over the one that was currently there. Animation showed up just fine after that.

drop the sound file in /system/media/audio/notifications folder and you will get sound on rooted gb

I read that somewhere (or at least I remember reading it somewhere :P) a couple of days ago, I don't remember where now, but haven't gotten around to trying it.....glad to hear it really does work..........now to try it, well later on some time :D

any chance of this working on a Vibrant? I like my colorful little Nexus boot animation, but this is hands down the coolest thing I've seen as far as boot animations go. I'm running Froyo if that is going to make a difference.
