Root can this work or help with oc?

my s4 has lower voltages on 2.1ghz than it does on stock 1.9ghz thus draining less battery overall.

the cpu table has the voltages, stock uses x amount but you can use less

unfortunately you cant, the kernel is what ties the hardware to the rom, and 97% of devices used teh very different hardware, even teh sgs3 from one carrier to another cant use most kernels

nha you need to download the kernel source and edit all the .c files add to the freq table the freq's and voltages that will work and then compile the zImage, pack into a boot.img and then loki it up

Huge thanks to djrbliss. Without his root and loki patch I wouldn't have gotten to build this kernel.

Maybe later on when I get some time I'll grab firmware f boot.img and lg kernel source for motion and build an OC kernel for it. Unless someone is already building one. If I don't get to it, when my source goes up any of the devs here can look up my cpu_freq_table. Same cpu for both devices, so it's prolly copy/paste. lol

No problem. Once you have your zImage I'll repack it for you.

I'm gonna fine tune the overclock a little more today and test it, It'll prolly be a couple days before I have my source code up.

I've done that before, never booted (different phone) cause i didn't know the ramdiskaddress, pagefile, etc... maybe it wasn't kitchen...don't remember cause it was frustrating lol

Don't worry about all that now. We'll get it done when the time comes.

I repack all my zimages in kitchen through option 12 menu since it's quick and easy. I'll do it for you, I don't mind.

Yes, I'd love to test! Only one problem though, still don't have my replacement Gonna try to get it replaced fast tomorrow if they have any in stock.
