Root [CDMA] {CDMA} [LINARO][Rom][11/21/12][JB 4.1.2]ParanoidAndroid 2.99 Official

Just had something extremely odd happen. My data completely stopped working on me. On the phone with Sprint for about 20 minutes, advised me to take it to the Sprint store and have it replaced for free since it's messed up through no fault of mine. So i decided to restore a nand just for the heck of it thinking it couldn't be rom related. Low and behold it had something to do with the rom. Still on 2.99 but got my data back working again.

Started to get depressed at thought of giving up my 3vo for a different device since it's discontinued. Happy again :D

Edit: maybe not, worked long enough to post this, looks like I'll have to give up the 3vo if it doesn't start acting right by tomorrow :/

Edit 2: 10 minutes and counting after a wipe with working data
 
Went back to XLPLUS with the same buttered toast kernal...Amazing speed and reliability. I had too many problems with this rom. Camera,video,reboots,voicemail,GPS,etc...I really was getting into PA but had too many snags.
 
Hey - FYI -
I PG86IMG ' d one of the Paranoid android Splash screens and it Corrupted the Cache.
It is the one with all the Jellybeans....so beware.
it booted up with no Splash - Then on a reboot - Hung - Had to do a batt pull back to recovery - where it stated that Cache Was Corrupt - Had to Reflash a Different splash - batt pull Format all reinstall a rom from Scratch to make any progress on this....Just a heads up......

The guy who made it has an Evo V. Dunno if he or lens packed it up but it possible the Info.txt only contains the Cid for evo v. Or visa-versa

Lol I'm back in business now, a wipe got me fixed up.

Would have hated to give up my 3vo since I called the nearest sprint store out of curiosity and they would only have switched me out for the shift or design 4g......Na ill have to pass :D

If it came to returning it, I'd much rather open a 3rd line and buy the gnex or s3 and pay the $8 freeze line fee than deal with one of those 2 phones :/
 
I just flashed Zred XL 2.0, not bad, but I am hooked to JB, going though withdrawals already, lol

Some of the problems have been bugging me lately and I thought about going back to ZR3D GT. I just can't though. I don't know why. So instead I dual booted zred as my secondary. Now with a simple reboot I can go do anything sense related that im missing in this Rom. The jump right back over when I'm finished.

What bugs are you having?

One I did experience today when mounting system storage to laptop it would reboot, once booted up it would mount fine though.

By the way, how do you dual boot? I've heard it mentioned before, but never seen an article on what it is.

Still get stuck in boot randomly. Have video issues. Trouble with mms. Certain apps won't work. Nothing big enough to make me leave but it'll be nice having the option to run sense whenever I want. I was dual booted before and just hadn't taken the time to do it with this one yet. Just download boot manager from the market! It'll do the rest.

Rarely every record video or send mms so that's nothing big to me as long as I've got video playback working good.

Is s off required to dual boot?

Same here. That's why it hasn't bugged me enough to leave pa. Now I have the best of both worlds. I can't remember but I don't think it's required. It only makes changes to your sd card. So you're actually running the alternate rom from the sd card.

Ah nice! May just be worth re downloading ZR3D GT again :D

Man I miss that rom but I'm too attached to pa to make that kinda move without dual booting lol
 
That is the issue, Zred is reliable, but love the look and feel of PA, like torn between 2 lovers, lol


For dual boot, I have a thread in the sticky about it ;) I may also use it again, LOL


UMM edit: It was there I just checked and not there anymore, will have to research that ;) Brian if you want to post it again, I know I had there a while ago.
 
I had issues with MMS messages this morning on 2.99.

One finally came through, but the other still says "downloading..."

I want to see what this Zred talk is all about.
