Usually I don't do a full wipe - but had an issue last time too...so full format wipe etc.

No Booty - no errors - just hands on the Boot animation.

Not exactly sure what the backup problem is but I'm thinking gapps caused us the boot issues. Odd coincidence that we both updated and then got stuck at boot animation for the first time. At least one mystery is solved I suppose.

I was wondering if the issue of the restore might be related to the kernel problems but mind restored fine.

What about trying a clean install and then do an advanced restore of the data portion of your backup?
 
I would also try flashing Mazda's 4.2 Gapps.

Same thing here, I had a problem restoring titanium backup application, so pulled the battery, and it wouldn't boot. I had to start from scratch again.

I'm on March 03 version, using DJ gapps.

Had you flashes the newest gapps mentioned? 2013-03-01?

Hmm interesting. Maholocat and I had both updated the gapps, and we both experienced our first boot issue. So I was thinking gapps might have something to do with it. But if you are getting the same issues without the new gapps, it may have just been a coincidence...
 
OK on a fresh install I seem to be running fine on the newest GAPPS...24 hours...

No I have a bigger problem....HARDWARE - Charging port has been degrading daily...I now have to push the cord in hard to get a charge then wrap the cord around the phone to hold in place.

I have insurance - so i guess Ill take the phone to the store across the street....HATE the manager there...Better flash a stock rom first...again...cause he is not cool....

My port is getting worse too :( Good luck, hopefully they will repair it and not try to pull some lame insurance claim crap on you...
 
Yeah....I am due for an upgrade but really waiting one the arrival of the HTC one - Samsung s4, Motorola x phone or the new nexus.....Come on 3evo....hold out baby!
 
Try a new charger first, I had the same issue and it was the charger.

In 3 weeks going to the Note 2 ;)

Tried Multiple chargers....FLashed mean rom to walk over there...
Man...Sense is UGLY -
Have been loving me some NOVA launcher on PACMAN!

I just moved over to nova....DIG IT -

Will keep you posted - HTC 1 should be released any day now...but no Micro SD slot....and HTC crappy Bootloader prefer nexus.....damn

Guys, I'm thinking to try another kernel. Any recommendation? I'm not sure of which kernel is compatible with this ROM (JB), and I'm afraid to flash the wrong one...
 
I am not on this Rom, but I would be careful, there are not too many compatible with 4.2.2 at the moment. so I would stick with what you have, but if you feel the need for speed, I read that the Mac Kernel might work. Use at your own risk ;)

Well, I think I'm just gonna follow you. I'm actually curious to try making video recording works. Thought changing kernel might replace the issue.. :)
 
There's a new version of this rom for the evo3d cdma. march 9 build. go to the evo v section, there's a thread with link to get it.
