Check this battery out-Might be the answer

This is also the only phone I know of that actually loses battery when used and plugged in to usb.

I'm trying to find another galaxy phone that has a battery case we can use... Of course it's not that easy...

Today I said SCREW IT AND SCREW THOSE FANCY EMERGENCY BATTERIES. I mixed the following together -

I can now charge my phone anywhere. I already had the rechargeable AA batteries so it only cost me 1.39 for the battery holder and 3$ for the Micro USB cable I cut in half.

The eneloop batteries combine for a total of 7600mah, which is over FIVE TIMES the capacity of the phone :D

There isn't one. I already spent two days looking, which is how I found all those matching batteries listed in post 9

The battery life on this thing is ridiculous. I spent all night trying to change settings to use as little battery as possible. At the end of the night it was completely dead. I left it charging over night for about 6 or 7 hours, got up to go to work and it was only at 72% charge. After about 2 hours of work it was at 50%, another hour it was at 36% and now I am fighting to keep it turned on at 5%, note its been on the charger all day.

I plan to do another charging speed test but I swear the phone is charging must faster from the AA batteries. Maybe because its truely DC rather than the stepped DC from the adapters?

Well I got the Continuum extended battery. Man it is uber thick!
BUT IT FITS!
Unfortunately, I've decided to get a better phone. I sold my Indulge. I was going to go with the Samsung Galaxy S at T Mobile, but the plan was to expensive. I've settled on Sprint and the Samsung Epic. Did a lot of research and like what I see.
Adios.
But the Continuum battery does fit.
So are you saying that the Samsung Continuum battery 3600mah work on the samsung indulge ? and the original door closes after inserting the battery in it ? Please, i have to know before i go ahead and buy the battery. Thanks you in advance.

Will the Samsung 2600mAh Extended Li-Ion Battery for Samsung Galaxy S Continuum i400 2600mAh work on the Samsung Galaxy Indulge 4G ? Will the samsung galaxy indulge original door close after inserting this battery ?

Hi guys
The Samsung extended battery is marked as follows:
EB124465YZ
vzw:samintbatsx3
s/n dc100705GS/D-B F1
2600mAh

here it is
Galaxy S Extended Battery (2600mA) | Samsung Mobile

I tried to cut the cover but ruined it :( I'm like a bull in a china shop.
I did indeed move on, but Sprint is the pits. Can't get more than .5 mbps up and down.
Kept my Indulge after all, probably coming back to Metro.

But this battery works fine.

Edit: No I'm pretty sure that continuum cover is different. Only the battery fits. I know of no extended cover for the indulge. And all I can say for SURE is that the extended continuum battery actually fits. I see no reason at all that the reg battery you show won't. But I only actually tried this extended one.

thx for the info, I think I'm going to try that case. The placement of the cam and speaker are right. Will report back.

i also see there is a 3000mha, If its fits its better no?

heck there is even a 3600

Looks like they all physically fit.

MetroPCS sort of blows here in Orlando. I'm just hopping they will grow. I like the galaxy phone, and realy dig android. I just would like to get service to my house. I wonder if the signal repeaters work?

Let us know if you find a source for replacement back covers, even if they are the original design. I too wouldnt mind to use a dremel to create my own extended battery cover (function over form!)

It might help to know that the following models all have the same part number on the original battery - intercept m910, transform m920, acclaim r880, craft r900, indulge r910

I bought this 3500mah battery to try in my Indulge

If you view this link you'll see a large list of phones that use the same spec of battery.

The phone comes with EB504465VA but EB504465VU and EB504465VK are other possible part numbers

There seem to be lots of "Samsung OEM" batteries on ebay that I have a feeling are fake. They have an A8 in the bottom right of the backside.

If anyone wants what seems to be a real OEM Samsung battery here is the cheapest source (10$) I have found

i bought the chinese version of the r900 battery and charger off ebay...it lasts longer than the OEM battery...it looks like the OEM just doesnt say samsung

two batteries were plenty when i was using the 4g in orlando

Ok doing some more digging, here is some info.

These phones take the same battery
Samsung Intercept m910
Transform m920
Acclaim r880
Craft r900
Galaxy Indulge r910
Samsung Continuum: I 400

From what I know the 3600mah is the highest and it fits the OMNIA 7, I do know the voltage is a match 3.7v.
UPDATE: size is
"It is about 64 x 44 x 5 mm"I had a guy that sells different batteries try it in a indulge and he says its a fit.

As mentioned the
Samsung Continuum has a 2600mah that works in the indulge and I would suspect the other phones as well. Its only $30 or so, where the 3600 is 90.

My current times (Stock battery):

Talk time : 120 mins.( not 100% sure on this )
Standby time :5-6 hrs. 12 hours via turning off 4g. ( see below )

I have all options defaulted and made sure no item are running like wifi or bt. I just let the phone sit over night and after 5 hours it shuts off. From what I can tell its because the phone is looking for a 4g network, that of which there are none at my home location. If I was able to toggle that off when at home, I'm told I could save a lot of battery.

--- Ok I took the plunge, will report how and if it works ( I have phone insurance ).

Be careful when buying extended batteries as many have the incorrect pin orientation!

I wanted to point out that two different batteries I bought were not right. While many of the phones use the same standard capacity battery, many of the extended batteries are in the wrong orientation and will not work.

To understand what I mean if you put your Indulge battery on the table with the samsung logo at the top you will see the three contacts at the top right. If you were to extend this battery it would grow vertically. The other phones use the same regular battery but turned over, meaning the indulge battery would fit but with the samsung logo downards.

In other words many of the Samsung extended batteries are extended in the direction that would be inside the phone. I was able to modify the 3500mah battery to fit by disassembling it but like others have seen the battery monitoring circuit is not supported and will not report battery health or charge inside the phone.

Edit: Oh I forgot to say that many of the cheap extended batteries are not extended batteries at all! They are two standard batteries stacked on top of each other. This may sound fine but they will slowly drain themselves while trying to charge each other.

Thx for the tips ciper, I will make sure the pinning is right before proceeding.

Also wanted to add this tidbit. I finally found out how to turn of 4g.

Source here http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1713354-Samaung-Galaxy-Indulge-Disable-4G-LTE

--------------
#1 open up the phoneapp as if you were going to make a call.
#2 enter the following: **583385##
#3 A few buttons will show up on the screen, Select the one that says CDMA Only.
#4 reboot the phone.

the phone will now only use 1X and never connect to 4G until you repeat the process and on step #3 select Global Mode instead of CDMA.

--------------

Does any one know how to make a macro for this?

UPDATE: I get a 12 hour charge vs 5 hour charge in stand by (no phone use at all) using this method. In my case where I have no 46 it just looks for it all day long. So I simple shut it off and save big time on the battery.

They stole this from us! MikesToolz found this first! :)
Check the thread Success - Turn off 4g and keep it off.

Back to the battery....the Continuum battery's polarity is correct. I have had it in the phone for several hours at a time. So if it works in the Continuum, it will work in the the Indulge.

And I did hear back from that extruded plastic manufactuer I contacted about back covers for @ersfrangel. Anyone got $100,000.00 for start up costs? LOL

ickster, I feel your pain. I design a usb device and use a modeling for the shell. I need badly a plastic fabricator to make some models for me. OMG, are the expensive! I have mastered the art of making my own modeling but I dont think the epoxy I use will look to nice on a phone, plus its a beoch to get spry paint to adherer to it.

I'm getting the cover with my new battery and I'm going to see about making a cut template for the exiting shell. The idea is to make it snap with out too much modding ( may the force be with me )

BTW: my start up cost for my device was 8000 ;( You may want to look in to shapeways. That is is if your any good in autocad.
