CheckROM Revolution HD now out!

Speed mod kernel has given me awesome battery. Today phone on 7hours, half an hour audio book, 2 calls, some texts and emails, light browsing and still on 90%. Best I've ever had. Try a few different kernels - it does no harm and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for the next.

Wow, i've been dropping 10% per hour, & i did'nt even play any games. Good to know. Thanks, i'll try some out, but are ALL of the kernels that i see on the KitchenPro app compatible with my device ? I'm thinking that it knows my device & gives me the optional kernels....

yes, anything in the kitchen is useable and compatible. the newer versions for siyah or siyah dark knight are in the links above and not yet available from the kitchen but will still be compatible. you can't go wrong playing around with siyah, speedmod, ninphet, ragemod etc etc. at worst you might get a bit of lag/freezes, but that's unusual and you just change your kernel back and everything ends up fine.
and as long as you have your cwm nandroid backup, you can always use this if it all goes tits up. but it won't!

Good stuff. Just ran into a slight problem. As soon as i plug in my headphones to the 3.5mm jack, it just constantly bootloops until i unplug it. When i unplug it, it boots up normal. Any ideas ?

Had to flash ad. blocking host file twice to get it working.

Hoping for Potatoman silent camera mod for CR2.

Well it's a good thing i did back up before trying to install the ROM.Well i made sure my SD card was unmounted.Debugging was ticked.I didn't rename it.I put the unzipped ROM in the download folder. And it showed Odin v1.85 for some reason.:confused:Also tried putting it in the root of SD.Maybe it's the kernel(Kernel 2.6.35.11 -ninphetamine-2.0.5+ninpo@titan#20) i have that is not co-operating with the ROM.Maybe the SD card is corrupt.??Anyone switching from Villain 3.0 to CheckROM also having problems? So my problem is finding the zip with ClockworkMOD Recovery v4.

Fogive me if I'm not reading you right, but since you're already rooted and coming from another ROM, just back up all your apps and efs folder, put the ROM zip on /sd card, wipe your download folder and do the following:

*This is a "No Wipe" ROM

As I mentioned, I didn't do a wipe on v2.0.0. I just flashed it over the top of v1.0. and thus retained all my non Kitchen Pro app's.

I then went to the Kitchen and reinstalled the app's that were missing. Everything else, including Settings, was OK.

UPDATE

*This is a "Non wipe" ROM only if you are coming from the previous version.

Otherwise a "FULL WIPE" is required as per the instructions:-

"Q: I'm coming from a different ROM how can i install this ROM ?

A: Follow the steps below

Get into the CWM recovery
Wipe Data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Wipe Battery Stats
Wipe Data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Wipe Battery Stats
Install the ROM
"

(If, for any reason, you do encounter any problems with installing this new ROM over the old one... then follow the "FULL WIPE" instructions above.)

Running Speedmod right now, & i have to agree. Hellcat's kernel was giving me bootloops everytime i plugged in my earphones, & Siyah kernel was ok, but a bit unstable. So far so good wit Speedmod. Thanks...

Christ if im on off using my phone on power saving settings im at 50% in 4 hours. im a heavy user but just flicking the phone on and off the power dips constantly.

I also got large drop of battery when idle. I flashed speedmod and it's much better. 3% in 6 hours idle with 1 alarm going off for 2 min . Just did battery calibration so i'll see how it goes.

You can go for which ever one you want. V2 is the latest version which fixed a couple of minor bugs. But v1 seems to have better battery life. It's entirely up to you as they're both good.

Thanks.Which one did you download and did you rename it "update"?

speedmod underated and not talked about much on here. but gets much positivity on xda. glad you like it:D

i've never tried it syd. mainly due to the fact it does not support bln.
Seems like a very strange (and archaic) omission to me.

Well Rudedawg just informed me of what i was doing wrong.I was D n Ding to SD card instead of PHONE.I'm in the process of back up right now.

Ohh.So there is going to be an HD version eh?Hey Rudedawg,i'm having a couple of issues with this ROM.First is ,i downloaded some (i guess they are universal themes/go launcher). And i lost that cool battery notification with the real time % number. Now its just the number on the battery icon and it's not in real time when charging. Also why when i boot into recovery and dowload with CWM it's blue now instead of green?

Cwm has never been green unless a very old version that was. Version 4 has orange text and v5 had cysn.

As fire your battery indicator you can download just the green circle battery mod and flash this. It is the best battery indicator by miles in my opinion.
