Root CM10 progress Update Thread

I use cwm touch i havent been bricked (knock on wood) lol and for me i do (vol down + power) and itll put me into cwm

NOT ROM MANAGER!! Cwm is a custom recovery. You do access it with power+ volume up.

In order to flash this, you need CWM. (ClockWorkMod)

I have the touch recovery that's on the OP... But when I try to flash it it gives me the signature verification thing... When I do Vol down it shows a white box with fwm or something in it but I can't do anything

Do volume up. Or download terminal emulator. Open it and type "reboot recovery" and it will reboot into recovery for you. That's how I did it before I had CM.

I believe it's cause there isn't SRS, but I've also noticed a huge difference. Only with speaker. I've fine tuned the headphone performance with DSP Manager. Speakerphone, in terms of calls is just fine. However music and ringtones, it leaves some to be desired.

I dont think its srs because i have no difference at all i even flashed back to slimm+ to test it. Turned it up to 4 and tested sounds exactly the same.

I have always had SRS at "Distinct". Which made the phone essentially even louder than what it was. And it was a very noticeable difference when I flashed CM10.

Just flash CM10 tester 11 or CM10 tester 11 deodexed by dadcup. After that, you may flash MMS fix. Not sure about GPS fix being flashable or not..

To begin:

Go into CWM recovery.

Tap on "Install zip from SD card"
And then choose the directory of where you've put the zips. I downloaded them all straight to my phone, so I went to the /Download folder. If your files were copied directly to the SD card, just look around the /sdcard folder, which recovery automatically is at.

Tap on each zip and then tap anything that'll confirm that you want to flash the zip.

After flashing everything, go back to the main menu. Don't reboot yet. Go to "advanced" and tap on "wipe dalvik cache" and "wipe cache partition". I just did that and have never factory reset my device unless I used the back to stock.zip.

Go back and then tap "Reboot system now" and you should boot into CM10(: Hopefully I made everything coherent for you. Cause I just woke up and started typing this, so yeah lol
 
works real good, all the bugs people are comig up with i guess i dont use daily so it doesnt bug me, ive got my 4g and tether so im cool :) great job guys im running this daily lol, one app that seems to force close on me is utorrent but that isnt too big of a deal for me, everything else is str8 and it looks awesome thanks totlth for being the perfectionist that you are, when this is officially finished its going to be absolutly boss, also since i finnaly got this to flash im willing to test

I use bittorent and it doesnt force close...u might wanna try that
 
I've finally caved in and made the deodex tester 11 made by dadcup my daily driver. Overall I am impressed at the development of this rom from our stock ICS rom. Though this is a tester I do have a few problems.

  • In the recovery I can't wipe the phone due to a an error on a dev block, though I was able to install tester 11 through a dirty flash.
  • On phone calls the proximity sensor doesn't turn off the phone when I put the phone up to my face.
  • On the theme chooser included with the rom and the one provided by seldomlove both give me an error when ever I try to apply a theme.
Hopefully I can get some insight on the problems I've been having. Though this is still a tester I don't frequent the forums enough to have a current bug list.
