Root CM10 progress Update Thread

Alright I'll try that, utorrent goes super slow on the phone either way

But I tried using the WiFi hotspot provided with cm10 and my signal just totally have out... I rebooted several times to no avail, I messed around with the network types, now I'm on CDMA/evdo and ive got 1 1x bar in a place I usually get 3 4g bars... don't think its a bug since others have used it and got it to work... anyone know how I can get my 4g back? I have the late 4g/3g app but dk how to use it, thanks

Go into play store ( may have to google search for play store apk) and search for LTE on/off I believe it says for HTC thunderbolt. when in the app scroll down and from the drip down menu select lte/cdma auto prl and then press radio off ( just below drop down menu) the turn radio back on. BAM!!! 4g service is restored
 
Idk still no 4g... not even 3g its just the bars (no internet connection is what the drop down menu says), I get 1x when I go to settings and set it for CDMA/EvDo... what's weird is the 1x is going as fast as 4g would

Edit: I got 1 1x bar using the method you told me, but that's all

I was messing around with my setting a few days ago and I completely lost signal. One reason I think that we lose data is that under in the Network Mode in the Mobile Networks section of the settings there is no way to select LTE/CDMA/EvDo which is what gives you 4G. Every time you go into the section you go back down to 1x.

Here's how to get 4G back. The method was posted a few pages back.

  • Settings > Wireless & Networks > More... > Mobile Networks
  • Change the Network Mode to CMDA/EvDo auto
  • Settings > Interface > System > Notification drawer
  • In the Widget buttons you need to add Toggle LTE
  • Turn on the LTE and you will get 3G
  • Install 4G LTE Switch from the Play Store
  • Make sure the app is freshly opened, force close it to make sure
  • Open 4G Switcher
  • Under the "Set preferred network type:" select LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
With all of this you should have 4G back. There is no need to keep the app or keep the LTE toggle in your notification drawer so you can dispose of them as you wish.

I've finally caved in and made the deodex tester 11 made by dadcup my daily driver. Overall I am impressed at the development of this rom from our stock ICS rom. Though this is a tester I do have a few problems.

  • In the recovery I can't wipe the phone due to a an error on a dev block, though I was able to install tester 11 through a dirty flash.
  • On phone calls the proximity sensor doesn't turn off the phone when I put the phone up to my face.
  • On the theme chooser included with the rom and the one provided by seldomlove both give me an error when ever I try to apply a theme.
Hopefully I can get some insight on the problems I've been having. Though this is still a tester I don't frequent the forums enough to have a current bug list.

Proximity doesn't work during it apparently.

Not sure what the dev block issue is

Theme Chooser usually gives errors is it has images not for the phones size. (In this case HDPI)

Woohoo! That was the magic touch, that beautiful number letter combo is back! Lol thanks totg, now I gotta figure out why that happened when I used the tether, dadcup posted a tether at http://androidforums.com/avid-4g-all-things-root/758233-tether-cm10-rom.html IMA try it out and see since I know how to get 4g back :)
 
Also not necessarily a cm10 bug, more q 4g bug... why is it that 4g just doesn't wanna work with certain apps (android forums) app for example... it just keeps loading... but I move away from 4g into 3g and it works perfectly what's up with that

Edit: okay my hunch was right, easy tether app is working when out of 4g range, using it right now, is it just my phone that does that? because i remember when i was running stock people were talking about how they have unlimited 4g AND they could tether using the stock tether and i couldnt , even after changing user agent strings and all that
 
Anyone having issues with home button not working? wiped everything and reflashed 4 or 5 times... Still will not work.

I've tried to use several themes, most recently Simplex, which seem to be a well rounded theme that supports a lot of screen resolutions, but I am still met with this error.

"Theme error
This theme was improperly compiled and cannot be applied. Please report this incident to the theme author."

To tether on 4g you have to pay metro a seperate fee it does this automatically...i asked lol
 
I found another bug. I'm not sure if it's been said yet but when u go into system settings/storage it force closes.
