Hroark13 you Sir are the man. Much love and respect. I'm extremely new at this so forgive my ignorance lol. So I've got cm 12.1 up and running everything is solid that I can tell. I've flashed the over clocked kernel, I believe it's called bankermod or something like that. All working correctly. My question now and again forgive my ignorance is "is changing the boot image possible? I believe I've done all the steps correctly but while it looked like I followed all steps the right way, I reboot and it is gone. Is it possible? Again, much respect brother!

Pull down the right edge of your status bar to open quick settings and long press on the tile that says hotspot. Once you have set up your password you can just tap on the hotspot tile in quick settings to turn the hotspot on or off.

Wasn't able to turn on hotspot in more/hotspot tethering, downloaded xtether in xposed and now I can turn it on. Which is awesome, now onto my next dilemma throttling. Im using agent switcher for chrome (computer) and I changed it to my phones user agent. I included spaces and caps in the string I entered, (just so you know exactly what I've done) That should stop throttling correct? I'm trying to do as much research before asking questions but alas my mind grows weary from hours upon hours of reading.... Am I on the right path?

You have to Add the hotspot button in the settings under notification drawer

awesome thank ya, now how do I avoid throttling from tethering , I have an unlimited plan but I know that doesn't include tethering, lol

Actually the MetroPCS $60 unlimited plan includes 6GB of unthrottled hotspot data. Once you go over that 6GB they slow your hotspot down to 2g speeds. And yes switching your user agent will be enough to keep them from throttling you.

You have to change APN...I haven't tried it because I don't have unlimited 4g LTE data... But.... A lot of people have said it worked.... You should join the zte zmax community on Google plus... There you'll find helpful tips and tricks to help you out...I hope this helps..

Should I reinstall rom -problem is very low volume on videos taken with this phone (unlocked no brand ZMAX) no matter what player I use to play back.. All other volumes are great-just the video volume.

Hey, I just flashed this rom, and I don't know if it's just a cyanogenmod thing or not, but holding down on home button is recent apps, and holding down on menu button now goes to google now. If this is common, is there a fix? If this is normal in cyanogenmod, is there a fix? Thanks.
