Root CM12.1 UNOFFICIAL RC5

I have had that with every lollipop ROM I've tried. I think mine has something to do with smart lock, as it only happens when I get home.
 
Anyone have any luck moving apps to SD card I tried doing this but it directs me to unmount sd card which I see no option to do some in cm settings
 
before I begin with my post i would like to say thank you to all you guys you all are awesome especially hroark13 and mastercheif87 I appreciate all the time and work that both you do to improve the zte zmax for all of us and you both are by far the best devs i had ever installed custom ROMs from and the most forum active and i really appreciate you guys

i had rooted my phone and installed your twrp recovery months ago and flashed mastercheif87's boot switcher and boot restore and had applied kit Kat sd card fix while boot switched and applied link2sd and then restored boot and recently updated trwp and did a nandroid back up and all has been perfect until today

today my phone automatically downloaded the metro pcs system update (even tho I use atnt network sim card currently) and franticly in fear of it screwing up my zte zmax (like what recently happened to my lg g pad 7.0 lte screwing up from updating on its own and rebooting and getting stuck on the same twrp version as what's on my zte zmax and then rooted my girlfriends lg g pad installed trwp then flashed a backup then installed her backup in my serial numbers trwp back up folder then restored the back up and accidentally swiped yes to install su and got stuck in fastboot with no way out and had to buy another lg g pad) i had hurried up put zte zmax into airplane mode to block any further metropcs Ota control and rebooted into trwp recovery and i did a system wipe and flashed hroark13s cyanogen mod and all is well and the dreaded Ota update is long gone

after all that rambling lol lol derp lol now i get to the point of my post lol

i have 3 questions

my first question is where can I find the appropriate su chainfire zip to flash for this rom?

my su binaries won't update they fail and they also won't install choosing via trwp

my second question is is link2sd compatible with this rom?

my third question is can i use mastercheif87's boot switcher and boot restore on this rom to have write privileges?

1 Google supersu flashable zip

2 yes if u have ur SD partitioned properly

3 switcher is for r/w restore go back to normal
 
I just flashed boot switcher and rebooted and it put me in a boot loop i had rebooted after the flash and the white screen with Android kept coming on and it was real hard to get back into twrp then I flashed boot restore and rebooted and it also put me in a boot loop and now I finally managed to get into trwp again and now I just did a factory wipe and am reflashing cyanogen mod looks like boot switcher is a no go on this rom
 
Each ROM has it's own switch and restore zips. They each contain a boot image for the specific ROM and an image of TWRP. The switcher puts TWRP on the system partition, and puts the boot image on partition. This allows you to have read write capability. If you use the wrong boot switcher, the image doesn't recognize the data and you go into a boot loop.
 
I have a dumb noob question
(audience yells noooooob) lol lol
I am fairly new to cyanogenmod and lollipop and don't want to risk getting a brick or don't want to have to reflash the rom and install everything all over again

my question is is it possible for me to go into device/system/media and add my own bootaudio.mp3 to boot up along with the cyanogenmod bootanimation.zip and also can I add my own shutanimation.zip and shutaudio.mp3?
if i can do it do i have to flash bootswitcher first in order for it to write to the system?

also am i able to install a different font via rom toolbox without any risks?
 
You can change fonts with the theme engine . I changed my boot animation as for the shutdown animation I don't see why not but I'm not 100% sure

whenever I try to get new fonts using the theme engine where do I go to get new fonts? every selection i choose doesn't offer any i figured I could just copy a backup using rom toolbox and install one from in there
I been so used to jellybean and kitkat over the past several years that this whole lollipop experience is going to be an adjustment and going to take alot of trial and error and alot of forum reading and testing the waters with this thing
and don't want to screw anything up

also do u know if we are vulnerable to the stagefright hack and if any stagefright-patch-mtk would be available for 5.1.1?
 
I tried to copy and paste my own bootaudio.mp3 on both switcher and restore flashed and it gives me a /system/media/bootaudio.mp3: open failed EROFS (READ only file system)
 
thats a bummer but I can live with it
all the benefits this rom has to offer outweigh not being able to customize the boot sounds and shut animation
thanks alot for the response and I appreciate all the work u guys have put into making this rom fully functional with little to no bugs
i will try to throw what I'm used to doing with rooted phones at this rom and also post any apps that won't load or work right and maybe fool around with some xposed modules to see what all is do able with this bad boy
 
Hi again everyone I havnt been around well because cm12 is working fine all the way around. But today when I opened titainuim backup I am no longer rooted. I have to manully boot to twrp but I am not rooted anymore hmmmmmm. What happens I don't dare try to fix until I get some help
