Root Cm7 1.1

how did it work out? did you try uninstalling adw if your using EX?

im about to flash mr2 cm7 and see whats better or worse  ill let yall know how it goes

haha i forgot to come back and update. The super full wipe and reflash seemed to work properly. After i install TiBu and get LPP installed i uninstall ADW that is built into the rom. I have never been a fan of it. Has not sent a double message that i have heard about and has been smooth sailing ever since. I am still on the .402 radio. Love this rom and can't wait for the next build.

Jeez you guys are quick.. Just coming over to see if anyone had posted the update yet.

downloading now!

*edit

Slowly downloading I should say.. :) 29min to go...

FYI: This build requires a full wipe according to Slayher via Twitter

edit: in case people are wondering why, straight from the horses mouth...

"If you want working 4g handoffs, data wipe is highly recommended, unless you know how to refresh your APN data"

yay! downloading now  hmmm do i have time for a full wipe and resetup before work :D

Edit: mr2 rc1.2 up and running :D

1.2 MR2 is running beautifully!

Seems the signal strength is improved slightly along with the occasional data drops. I was getting about 5-6% per day no signal, and left it in 3g overnight and all day today without a single data drop.

Never was a big deal it would only drop for a second or two and pick it right back up, but Slayher fixed it up nicely. Still don't know where he finds the time..

Yea I can't figure it out either. Man is a machine. This build is beyond awesome. I did have a random reboot earlier, but I'm chalking it up as a fluke. I love that if you're on WiFi and you receive an MMS it automatically switches to 3G/LTE to download then shuts off. I always had to manually toggle WiFi off, data on then back to view MMS on 1.1. The new power toggles are pretty sweet, too. I like having the screen shot built right in. I still think there's better options, but it's nice to have

Just flashed this last night, after spending about a week on dasBAMF stripped. Experiencing a bit of slowdown or lag in menus and app drawers  anybody else getting this?? I really love CM7 on my optimus, never had any issues. Maybe im doing something wrong. Any ideas??

How did you flash? Verified md5?

RC6 was when I felt comfortable jumping over to CM7 and that was coming from 3 BAMF Stripped builds prior and theres nothing comparison with the speed and smoothness.

i agree completely- this rom is super smooth and fluid for me. if someone who wasnt familiar with htc or cm picked up my phone and used it for a few days, they prolly would never know it didnt come that way. its smooth, this last biuld required no workarounds, there are no glitches that ive come across yet.

this is 100% as good or better than any "official support" RC or nightly ive run on my droid 1 or incredible. folks that keep sayin "ima wait for a stable release" this is it! give it a shot.

with mr1 rc1.1,i experienced occasional data loss. id have to toggle airplane mode to get it to return, and sometime toggle 3g to get 4g. texts would stick on "sending" on occasion.

with mr2 rc 1.1,i expereinced the same. twice in one day 3g disapeared and wouldnt come back with any work around... had to reboot to get it back

rc 1.2 has polished up fantastically. i handed off from wifi to data, back to wifi, from 3g to 1x and 3g to 4g with no prollems. no texts stuck. no data loss at any time.

may be time to send a lil more slayhers way

as far as mr1/mr2 i personally have not experienced any benefits. cell signal is about the same,as is 3g download. 4g may actually be a lil less down with mr2,but id need to play with it some more and do several more speed tests in both. at my house i got regularly 8-12mbps down. i ran 6 or so yesterday, and they were 8-9mbps. maybe a fluke? on the GB roms, now that i think of it,i got about the same down(8-12mbps),so prolly a fluke or wierd network issue.

if youre on mr1 and having great luck, based on my experiences(your mileage may vary ;)) youre not missing out on anything. the grass was not greened over here for me.

having said that,i prolly wont change it back to mr1 radios for awhile. again, not much reason to,performance is about the same and sticking with the GB radios makes it easier(and a lil more tempting) to play with the GB sense roms here and there :D

wiped data, flashed though CWR,

verified md5 with checksum too

I agree cm7 is smooth as hell on my old phone, but i used it all day today on the TB and it just felt slow. I just restored BAMF backup, gonna try and flash again, maybe ill have better luck this time

on a side note, the battery life seemed pretty good in comparison. Im really hoping to use this as my daily!

sounds stupid chipp0, but some people recommend to wipe data, cache, and dalvik 3 times before you flash. After i had problems with RC1.1 i did this and reflashed, with no problems after that at all. Also did it when i recently flashed RC1.2 also no issues have come up yet.

Anyone having problems with Navigation? I tried using it earlier and all I got was a "searching for GPS" It pulled my location fine and the written directions were spot on (and updated as I got closer to my destination), but no turn by turn. It makes me think it's more of an app issue then the GPS since I was still able to get my location and written directions.

Running lastest everything for the MR1 version.

Wiped twice for everything. DID NOT FORMAT SYSTEM!

Left my already working radio MR1 Radio from the Obligatory Radio thread.

Installed..

...

AND ITS F**KING BEAUTIFUL!

Works perfect for me. Almost INSTANT 4G on boot, LOADS better 4G connection(was getting complete drops of ANY data type of connection) NO DROPS!!!!!!

One thing, I wish there was a way to browse Themes like in Beautiful Widgets, not only do I not know where the themes are, IDK wtf I would do with them after. lol(still a TB nub cake)

Its called theme changer. Looks like a multicolored Andy. There's tons of themes to download for CM7 and once downloaded choose which one you want in the theme changer app and reboot.

All you gotta do is search, man. ;) Here you go. If the theme is an apk download it, use a file manager to install then go to the theme changer app and select it. It will says something about being the wrong size, install anyways and reboot. if you don't want to boot after every theme (who does) download the app from the market called "Notification Restart" and run that after you install a new theme

I ran nav a bit yesterday and had a slight issue as well. The first time I started it, I got a GPS lock, written directions and turn by turn voice but a black screen. Thought maybe I didn't have gmaps installed. Exited nav, checked for gmaps (it was there) and restarted nav. This time, worked like a charm. That has been my only issue so far with 1.2.
