Comfort Food

Frisco

Do you have a personal favorite or two.. so good that you sometimes forget about it for long periods of time, and then when you do think of it, you will go to great lengths to get some of it right away? ;)

Mine is warm butterscotch pudding with real whipped cream.. graham crackers on the side. LOTS of it. :)

Diabetes has really limited my diet, especially in the area of comfort foods.

I would say in ascending order ...

Goat cheese ravioli.

Cantaloupe wrapped in Prosciutto

The olive in the bottom of a Martini glass.

One night I had to leave my favorite tv program so she could have a bag of marshmallows, crunchy peanut butter and a package of bacon.

The mint ice cream and pickles were her first. It got more bizarre until about a month before our kid's birth. During that last month she settled down about it and stuck to ordinary corn flakes with honey and chocolate milk.

ouch, i wouldn't have been able to refrain from the occasional eww/really/wtf!

any who my favorite comfort food would have to be either toast with peanut butter and bacon, or toasted pita's (but in half so its still a circle) with butter and powdered parmesan cheese

My favorite comfort food is a combo, chai and shortbread cookies.. this combo will melt any problem.

My wife craved pickles and chocolate ice cream when she was pregnant. I've never understood the pickle craving.

I'm at work, Can't post pictures but...I am addicted to the pumpkin pie shake from Jack in the Box. It's the only fast food within walking distance from me. ^_^

Nothing beats a PB&J sandwich. Tastes really good deep fried.
I love a toasted PB&J but never tried fried. I'll have to try that.

I love chai because it tastes a lot like pumpkin. I'll have to find a Jack in the Box :)

It seems to be quite common with women with a bun in the oven. I wondered if it was a sodium craving, after all the sugary stuff she ate then.
Hmm, you may be onto something there.. my wife also loved salt & vinegar potato chips before Lays started distributing them.

Not in order, but I would have to say boiled peanuts, steak, pot roast, pulled pork bbq.

I didn't crave pickles with either of my kids. I hate those nasty things. I craved peanuts with my son and White Castle or Krystal cheese burgers (without pickles of course) with my daughter.

Homemade chocolate covered bacon, it doesn't get better than this. This isn't a pic of the bacon I make, but it's close.

It's not comfort food unless it gives you a heart attack. :P
