Root Coming Soon: Full 2.3.320 SBF file!!

Sorry for a lot of double checking but will I lose my z4root and everything? I have titanium backup, but will that wiped too?

Mine's tomorrow (4th). No party here, unless I want to party alone.

Happy birthday, bro! :D

@colchiro- mine is the 4th as well. I'm on the east coast so when I posted that, it was already the 4th
@steven- thanks!

Looks like Ill be spending my morning flashing this over OTA2.2 on Apex 1.0.2.1 because I just found my camera on ApeX isnt working so I'm gonna flash to this and try the ApeX 1.2

Should I sbf 2.3.15 and maybe a factory reset before I flash 2.3.32?

DE- No need. Just go ahead and do and SBF of 2.3.32. This will upgrade you. It won't wipe your data though. Per GMB's advice
insistance ;)
I then did a factory data reset..AFTER I upgraded. It's not necessary and if you don't, all your apps will remain in place, it it's recommended in order to get a clean start/install.

so if i just flash this sbf i will be upgraded to 2.2.1?

If you just did check your phone settings>about phone>android version.

It should say 2.2.1

If it does? Your golden. If it doesn't? You used the old sbf file. :)

I am wondering if anyone knows what the version # of the next official release might be?

I know that there are phones (refurb) that are getting sent out with the 30.04 bootloader and 2.3.151, I swore that a few users have received replacement handsets with this 2.3.320 also.

I downloaded it, but I'm drunk (figgen' Jamaican rum)...I'll figure out this confusing mess later. For now I stay with Froyo OTA, ApeX, and NexTheme. :p

This, only I was drinking Guatemalen rum, Ron Zacapa 23!!! My head hurts, DL'd the new sbf, will deal with this after some coffee and aspirin.

Can I do this: Coming from 30.01 BL with 2.2 sbf kernel and radio do the update.zip 2.3.230 afterwards do the 2.3.232 sbf then flash the right rom for the leak?

Edit: I successfully updated.

Did you sbf or use the update.zip?

the full SBF does not update the bootloader, team black hat was able to successfully test with the 30.03 and 30.04 bootloaders.

however it was recommended to use the update.zip as this SBF was released as a way to unbrick those already on the leak.

Does anyone know if this SBF is an untouched file straight from Verizon/Moto or was it modified to make it work with our phones?

Is this the next official OTA or is it possible that the next official OTA will be a different version? I'm on 30.03 now so if I load this SBF and the next OTA is a little different will I be able to load the OTA if I wanted?

I am greatful to have "My Precious" working again. Many thanks to TBH.

Maybe this is an instance that only I am experiencing, but since I flashed the SBF (phone is working perfectly now) I am unable to re-root my device.

I've tried DoRoot, RootmyX and DroidXRoot. I tried all 4 modes of USB connection. Each one seems to get half way through the process and when the ADB starts to check the device..........nothing! It just sits there and reads "checking device". I thought that maybe I wasn't letting it go through the process, so I let it sit there for 30 minutes, but none of these weret able to reconnect to the device.

As I said, maybe it's just me, but unless you are bricked, to those of you who are on the fence about flashing this SBF, you may want to think again.

I'm starting to wonder if this new SBF has some new workings to prevent the "Bricked", from tampering with root again.

Does anyone know of this issue and have any comments that might help re-root?

No problems rooting here. Try this for me, make sure your phone has USB debugging enabled and the phone is NOT plugged into your PC and run Z4Root. Give it a few minutes and if it doesn't work, reboot and run it again. That should do it.

EDIT: All I ask is that you please give us an update to either retract or validate your previous statement ;)

does anyone know if i can use rsd in linux ubuntu? all i get is file type not supported from archive manager?

So should I take the plunge and SBF?

I'm still on 2.3.15 with ApeX 1.0 which Im happy with.

What are the big pluses to doing this?

new kernel with media and wifi updates. i did it last night and then loaded ApeX 1.2 over it with no issues.

Is anyone afraid that updating is going to take you off of the official Verizon/Moto OTA path since we're never going to be able to downgrade to 2.3.15 and update?
