Root condemned cm7

I haven't tested this much yet but if anyone wants to check it out here is the apk for the new market. It's pretty sweet. My understanding though is that rooted devices are not supported for the movie rentals. If you try it you'll more than likely get an Error saying that and lose your $3.99 for the rental lol.

My suggestion...

Backup current market with TI.
Download the new apk.
Install like an app over the existing market.

New Market

First off I want to thank you!! My phone was practically rendered useless when I ran out of internal storage with no "official" alternatives for remedy.

Now I am running your 2.3.4 OS, have a ton of internal storage to spare and all the other benefits of this awesome build. I am very grateful!!

Here is my question. What is the purpose of the "New Market". My market seems to be working just fine.

That's the updated market that is being pushed out in the next couple of weeks by Google. It has a whole new look and interface. It has books and movies as well as all the apps. Like I said earlier though... If you use the new market do not try to rent a movie from it. You will lose you 3.99 to be told that rooted devices are not supported.

Thanks CS. I downloaded the new market over the old market after a Titanium Backup. Working great.

Flashed v14. More responsive than v13. Most everything is working great!

For those that might be experiencing issues with navigation I have a rudimentary workaround. I have been experiencing crashes like others have reported after about 10-15mins of navigation. Navigation is an important feature for me.

My workaround is basically launching navigation and obtaining a screen shot with shoot me of the directions. Simply but effective.

I've found something that may be worth testing though if anyone is going back and forth between my new sense rom or xtr-sense and any of the CM7 Roms. The original post is Here.

No need to download the MSL Reader from market. While on the Sense ROM open dialer and enter ##GPSCLRX# (##4772579#). When asked for password enter 000000 (6 zero's). Reboot phone. Then go back to your CM7 ROM and see if your GPS has improved. Hopefully yes :)
This is similar to restoring A-GPS state with GPS Status however this has been found to be more effective from what I've found thus far.

I would test this myself but I'm currently testing a few new tweaks for this rom and I know some of you change back and forth or have a backup on hand for quick changes lol. If any of you try it please report any findings. :)

It's been kinda quiet here too.... almost time for another update maybe? ;)

No worries... it won't be for another couple of days before it's ready :D:p

I'm also curious as to the CPU speeds most of you are using. Are you leaving it stock or bumping it up a little? The more replies to this I get will determine if I leave it where it is or bump it up a little...

This will be a great way to celebrate the end of my summer class. I don't know what else you could do for this ROM. It feels almost as snappy as my mom's Incredible.

I've got a handful of goodies in the goody bag right now ;)

And congrats on the end of summer class..... the only time I did summer school was when I failed a class though...... lol

Goodies sound exciting. Any hints?

I wish I hadn't taken this class. It's hard to get motivated for a fake lawsuit when you're working with actual lawsuits at work. At least it will be done between Monday and Wednesday.

If all goes well you could switch phones with you're Mom and she won't know ;) (unless she looks at the phone itself of course :p)

In case you missed it on xda cpu settings on ours are 710/480 and +1 on a hint for what's in the goody bag?

Thanks for the feedback.

Mostly performance related. Speed and memory tweak along with a a few adjustments to try and keep those changes from hurting battery life too much.

Loving 15 so far its so fast :-) battery life seems a lot better too but I will know for sure tomorrow. If any problems or anything happen I will let you know more tomorrow.

May have a fix for Maps force closing. I ran the "fix apk uid mismatches" and it still was force closing. I went into settings/applications/all and went to maps. I cleared all data and then went and opened the app and it worked just fine. Don't know if it will solve other people's problems with it, but it solved mine.

I don't know why it didn't fc for me though...

I don't know if it's supposed to be there but DSPManager is back in S2H 15.

I've never used it but it runs in the background. What's it even for?

I must have missed it. Its basically an eq app for your speaker headphones and Bluetooth. It can be safely removed with ti.
