Root Custom recovery on x!!!!!!!

It says it's for rooted and no-rooted so you'll be fine.

I'm not even installing his custom recovery so I'm not worried about a FROYO image from his ROM manager...
 
I"m not rooted anymore (I just got a replacement X) so basically I was wondering if this is installed the same way the 2.1 SBF was loaded...

Anyone have a link to the other forum?
 
Does anyone know if we will lose root when upgrading via this release? If so, will the 1 click root still work? Sorry if this is a newbie question.

He said you can already have root so it should be fine if not Birdman said 2.2 is root-able.

*** Update***
Well it is now being reported that it IS the unofficial Froyo (whatever that means and not a custom ROM *** so go change it will break root but who knows. But I don't think it will matter much since Bird said it's root-able.
 
ok ive been reading these posts and i DL the free version of bootstrap but i can't find a walk through and how to install it? lol i thought that i saw it somewhere but i can't find it again, i installed the .zip to the root of my sdcard but dunno where to go from there....thanks much

Its an app so install it with a file manger like astro
Then open it up
press bootstrap recovery
done

If you want to go into the recovery press reboot recovery

It's shouldn't be a zip but an APK. press it and select open app manager, from there you can select install
 
i just used my phone and DL it and it worked and installed as apk, dunno why when i DL on my computer it saves it as a .zip, well i got it to work, thanks much for the help
 
hmmi dl that apk with my phone and gives me an error when trying to install it saying problem parsing the package? lol
