Okay, so this thread is for the ZTE Zmax (specifically the CM13 ROM beta 2)...
And, the ZTE Zmax, as we know, in it's original, stock, out of the box state had KitKat (KK), and if you subscribed to the MetroPCS cell service (as I do), you received 4G LTE service and speeds. So, we KNOW that the phone (hardware) is fully capable of doing LTE.
Can someone please answer this question:
I've recently upgraded my Zmax to Marshmallow OS, via the custom ROM = CM13 beta 2. Since this upgrade, I not only cannot get 4G/4G LTE, but the 3G, H, H+ signal I do receive is inconsistent. I tried a radio flash fix, but no difference. I also have read a lot about OTHER people experiencing 4G LTE connection problems as well with different upgrades/ROMs. Some people have also experienced (which I too have also experienced on an earlier custom ROM that I installed), that if they turn ON the LTE data, then they can't send/receive phone calls. However, this was NEVER an issue back when the same Zmax hardware had KK installed.
So, my question is, is this a problem with just Marshmallow in general? Or is this a specific problem to the specific ROM itself that I installed (or maybe how I installed it?)?
Being an I.T. guy, I'm thinking of it like this... when upgrading the software on your existing PC (hardware) from, let's say for example, MS Windows 7 to Windows 10, you suddenly find that your printer doesn't work, but, that's because you need to install the new Windows 10 "drivers" for your model of printer.
So... similarly, is it a similar issue in that we need a newer cell radio "driver" for Marshmallow?
Thank you in advance for any help and answers.
