Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

You are most likely hiding the dock and not realizing it. If you slide up on the home screen it hides the dock.
Go into settings -> AWD Settings -> General Settings and change the swipe up actions to stop this from happening.

How is the CM7 on performance? I downloaded it but have been hesitant to put it on my phone.

I noticed a couple of things...
1. the screen doesnt always lock or go dim on phone calls. ear presses all kinds of buttons while on a call.
2. when you check spare parts, the phone is running 100% of the time. thats a battery killer.
3. if you uninstall any system apps, such as mms, google books, email ,or calendar. you go into a bootloop after you reboot the phone and have to restore from a previous backup or start from scratch with a fresah install.
4. Could not use mp3 or wma files for ringtones or notifications

ok that was it but heres the wierd issue.
the swipe up is set to NONE.
setting it to open/close dock will allow you to reopen it.

Thanks for the info.
I installed it last night. Only problem i noticed was when i woke up in the morning a few of my icons i placed on the main screen were no longer there. Not sure if its somthing i did? I put them back on this morning and havn't noticed any problems since.
Hey guys I'm new to posting but I've had the prevail since August and love it. More so I love how far this phone has come along in such a short time! I've been rooted and used shabby for a while and fell more love when I saw cm7 out now so I gave it a go.
Everything has gone picture perfect until today I tried the dta2sd with s2e and everything seemed smooth until I put the Dav cache on the SD then problems started. 1st bootlops but I got around that.... next my market Apk got deleted so I factory reset and cleared Dav cachebut now anytime I download an app it goes to the cyangen loading screen andcurrently unable to download anything. Everything else seems fine though. I'm at work now tonight I might just Odin and start fresh. Any other option

Try the link2sd app from the market. I haven't tried it on CM7. But it's working great on the M1-mod.

I reallllllllllllly wanna try CM7 but before I do I wanted a lil clarification on the Speaker Phone Issue.
1) Does this mean every time you use the phone normally on a normal call the sound comes out of the speaker phone as well as the earpiece?
2) What if you never use the speaker phone? Can I just not use it, or disable it somehow?

I was probally going to make on once all the bugs are worked out of this rom, and if i can find a cheap precedent on craigs list or somethings
the phone are basically the same, someone can easily port my source code over to the Precedent with a few modifications

My friend sent me this link for the Gingerbread opensource for the Galaxy prevail. I downloaded the zip to check it out. It includes the Kernel txt file as well as the Kernel tar.gz, and the GB Platform text and tar.gz files.

Should I installed Kourma or Shabby kernel before I do this? Or does CynaogenMod come with it's own kernel?
BTW: I'm currently running on the stock kernel. I haven't really done anything to the phone other then root it

i know i went to the website a couple of days ago and didnt see it and then i went yesterday and i saw it. i was like wtf.

This can only help with the dev of Cyanogen, and other ROMS
I wonder if they are going to come out with a new GB ROM
Maybe they seen us struggeling with this rom and decided to throw us a bone
Well to the person at Samsung who decided to release this to us, thank you very much, we will try to put it good use, and hopefully anyone who makes something from it will thank you and give you credit and your developers credit

i did make a topic. will this fix issues we are having with your beta? i would try to do something with it but i dont know anything about making roms and stuff lol. maybe shabby can make a new shabbymod with it.

you should go to the post i made and start talking about it there. this thread is for hroarks cyanogenmod7beta. i dont know how but go post your question overthere and maybe some one can help us. but i think you have to compile it first with linux commands.
you cant do that it is source code and has to be compiled, it will be a while before someone makes something from this, if we can.
yes that is a good idea, this thread is already big and probably confusing to some people
Here's the issues I have found so far
1. In a call if you switch to speakerphone or Bluetooth you have to toggle the mute key
2. Person on the other end hears bad echo
3. GPS is slow to lock

what if you copy the original gps config files? would that help gps to lock fast?
Is it just me that DTA2SD is showing the wrong partition size to? If anyone else does have this issue, do you know if it is only a graphical error and my partition/app storage space is fine?
