Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

Is the Voicemail not connecting an issue that is known, i scrolled back a few pages and didnt see anything. If i click the notification or hold 1 for speeddial i just get ringing. If I dial my phone number i can get into it though.

Everything running smooth! did seem a little choppy at first but i think that was google updateing everything. sound does still sound like its being overdriven. and is there anyway we can get the samsung taskmanager installed? i have the .apk but it fails to install. Ill test the speakerphone tommorow. so far so good. great work!!

Speaker button works without having to press mute. Person I'm talking to no longer hears echo. Also the speaker volume is louder. I don't have to hold the phone up to hear. I have been tested this on ingoing, outgoing and conference calls just to make sure. Great job.

I tested after install CM7 and gapps. Didn't want take the chance of something I installed to cause any problems. I'm about to add a2sd and was wondering if I need to change anything in Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Applications? Or should I leave it at default?

I have not even messed with a2sd and I dont install too many apps

I am constantly loading and testing new versions of the roms, which wipes the partitions

Once I get the hardware straightened out I will start testing a2sd and other apps / ad-ons or I might do a port for the Samsung Precedent if no one has done so already

Hey what about the Roaming Indicator Off how do I remove that? I read previous post didn't see anything...

However I am loving it, with Gapps that you had installed smoothly and everything is working fine, ringtones sound great
i dont know how to just get rid of it but if you flash cm7 ultra blue theme the roaming indicator is gone

I know it off topic a bit but just wanted to share something I learned as well with this setting.

After you enter your # in to dial your voicemail you can also make it auto enter your pin so you don't have to use the dialpad if you like.

Adding a comma after your # makes the dial process pause for 1 second. The more you add, the more seconds it pauses. I've found that 3 seconds is perfect pause for our voicemail service.

So when you enter your number in settings->call settings-> voicemail settings, the format will look like this:
5555555,,,pinn#
^your # ^

And it will auto dial your pin for you. Beats having to unlock for the dialpad. ;)
Just thought id share...

hroark, in Known Issues you mention that wifi hotspot is not working but we could download a free app. What is the name of the app u were referring to? Unless I have to make changes to the settings WiFi tether doesn't work on here (tried the dns settings mentioned) and barnacle is really slow and doesn't act as a hotspot like Wifi tether did.

to be perfectly honest with you, I stopped drinking 7 months ago

so doing this Android stuff has helped me to stay sober, I was kind of out there for a while

but you can buy me a soda if you want, Diet Coke

saying, buy me a beer just sounds a lot cooler I guess
How about a coffee! :)
So, Hroark
Everything on my phone seems too be running great! So, I have a question about your new version vs. dtap2sd! I had a heck of a time getting apps to acknowledge that there was an ext.04 So, will i loose ext04 when i flash your new beta? If so im gonna hang loose for awhile cause i dont feel like going through that again!
Thanks
Ric

I used Wireless Tether for Root Users
Muller, Lemons, Buxton

and seemed to work fine for me

Yeah, I like Dunkin Donuts Coffee

This wont wipe your sd-ext partiton, but it will wipe all your settings on system and data that point to the sd-ext, so you will probably have to set it up again

It was probably only hard to set it up the because you were doing it for the first time. Since you have already have done it, it should be easy the second time around.

I am going to try make any future updates not require a wipe / format

Themes typically replace the framework-res.apk, basically pull it from this and upload it to UOT Kitchen and then you can create a custom theme.

first open the terminal program on the phone and type ( make sure WIFI is off and 3g is on and working)

getprop

u will see lines that say

net.ppp0.dns1
net.ppp0.dns2

write those down

hate if get the lastest verison of wifi tether from here

install it, run the app, menu key, settings, Device profile, set it to
Samsung Galaxy Indulge

then goto Setup-Method and select
Soft tap for samsung

then goto primary dns and change it to the address u found in net.ppp0.dns1

then goto secondary dns and change it to the address u found in net.ppp0.dns2

and u should be good to go!

i adverage with 2-4 bars of signal and get 1-2meg down.
