Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

this new one is working good, had a quick issue with google talk not authenticating but hit retry like twice and it hasn't come back up, i also notice that with this one its registering alot less space being used up when i use link2sd as with the 3.5

are you using netfix on wifi or 3g ?

I am on wifi, I dont have my prevail activated so I dont have 3G

I is very hard to do dev work on a phone if you have to rely on it as your working phone, so I am using my other phone

I installed Netflix after and it work perfectly for me on WiFi, I dont know how it would work on 3G


I am sure you have tried CTMod 2.x which uses the same kernel zImage and same baseband

Did you experience any Netflix issue with CTMod 2.x

are you using the Netflix that downloads from the Market?, because that is what I used

netflix on ctmod has a greenbar at the top but it plays, 1.2.2 is in sync, the netflix on the market isnt. im on wifi too

so you have tried just doing a fresh install of beta4b
connect to your wifi, sign into market, download netflix from market, log into netflix, play a video

and it is not working for you, and you did not install any other apps or do any mods or tweaks, or restores of anything


I cant imagine why we are getting different results
 
Well besides the low speaker phone volume during a call and sound coming from
back speaker giving feed back to other party. And video screen quality to bright
and a few Camera features not working and fc if u double tap cam scr. Music
player fc in full screen mod "minor prob."
Is there anything in the sys/files/ I can edit that might solve these issues?
CM7 beta 3.5 is great

If u have trouble with Music Player just use:
Power Amp or Pro Player, Both are Free on Market.
If u want a swype keyboard, use:
"Touch Pal keyboard" or "Slidit keyboard" both work great on Cm7 3.5
s2e works good also with this Rom CM7 3.5
And also if you're having trouble "Tethering" try "PdaNet" it's faster and works
well. My USB Cable doesn't work on my CP for "Tethering" so I use "BlueTooth"
Dongle as Dial up service and connect to internet, no problems at all...

Mr. hroark you're a life saver with this CM7, whether it's beta or not you brought
life to a semi dead phone. And I will Hit the Thank U Btn.
 
I was able to install One-Click-Root, then ClockWorkMod, and now CyanogenMod. What do I need to do to be able to get videos texted to me? They come garbled. Also, I didn't see the swype keyboard, is there one, or do I need to use one of the droid apps? Still poking around, looks pretty nifty, especially like the idea that the touchscreen problems I was having seemed to be gone. :-)

i did do a fresh install was on wifi netflix from the market works it just not in sync with a/v no mods tweaks
 
I have been using CM7 for a few days and I love it. First of all I don't know how to tell what version of CM I am using - hopefully someone can tell let me know how. I had mad force closes with stock keyboard rendering it useless but I just downloaded Slideit and it works great. I also had force close issue with Rom toolbox but I started using root explorer and root uninstall instead (I think it's beter because they are much smaller combined than toolbox), unfortunately it doesn't offer script control or font changing but I'll cope.
Oh and screenshotER2 isn't working anymore, hmm. Other than that I love the speed and customization - oh and the media controls on the lock are great! even work with pandora!

The newest Google Maps works!

I had uninstalled it with 3.5 and was going to rely on the browser based version.

But...I really needed it this morning so I installed the newest version from the market. I will not go through all the details but basically I did get several FCs at first.

I noticed that every time out seemed to get a little further into the app before it crashed so I kept on trying. I think I did clear a cache somewhere along the line when it finally have me the option
for settings.

Anyway, I used it and the Nav and it worked perfectly. The GPS took a minute to lock in the house but worked fine on the car.

hroark, if you're willing to point me in the right direction, i am willing to learn the coding and building of a android rom. its something i been meaning to do but dont know where to start
