Appreciate the third hotfix. Had moved mine as well. The ringing is back when the phone boots up. Sounds as if someone is calling you almost. Rung twice then stopped, scared the cat

updated: just realized that's a feature rofl. If you have unchecked voicemails it rings for each one that you have available. Once you actually check your voicemails it goes away.

if you are removing stuff and do all kinds of mods then you will have issues

this thread is focused on fixing problems with the ROM as it is when it is flashed

the only problem that I can think of that needs to be fixed is the MMS over WiFi

the other known issues listed in post 2 are not really problems they are just things that are not supported

I hope you find a fix for this hroark13 cuz i really like cm7, its made my phone twice as fast and battery life last about twice as long. But i have to ask, is cm7 the best MOD to have for the prevail or is there a specific one that is the best?

I dont know, CTMOD is very good, I have not tested any other Custom ROM since Shabby's on this phone

Cool, I trust your wisdom on this... if it wont work, I'm not gonna play with it. I can wait until someone figures it out because i don't have the time to play around with making it work. If you wont do it then I'm not gonna attempt it because your way more knowledgeable in this field then i am so....lol. And i think you did an amazing job with cm7. I really like it!

well only problems i seem to have is the wifi/mms problem\\\\\\\\\\\\drop down menu freezes up sometimes just have to reboot to fix it every so often\\\\\\\\\\\\\and the speakers bass is to loud for my phone/

is it going to blow my speakers being this loud?

CTMOD is probably better for people who just want to load a ROM and start using their phone, and are not into this as a hobby

CM7 is better for people who are on this site a lot checking for updates every couple of days, they are into this as a hobby, and they want to try to contribute to getting CM7 out of beta status (it is a beta after all)

If you run CM7 you should keep a copy of CTMOD on your sdcard, there are some things CTMOD/STOCK can do that CM7 does not support like updating the PRL and Profile

If you had to call Boost with a problem they would not support you if you were running CM7

we need a new kernel for ICS


it has mainly to do with the gralloc drivers

well im very new to this, but i would love to learn how to help! I dont have much experience with the smart phone thing but im exceptional with computers so i learn fast, i didnt have any problems putting cm7 onto my phone. I actually was turned onto it by a friend of mine who is a computer expert and into all this stuff but he has a different android than the prevail. Im really up for learning all the mod stuff and maybe even doing some things of my own, but it would take time to learn and heck i doubt many of you guys really have the time to teach me...lol.

i can confirm that after having tethering on for about 10-15 minutes my phone froze. temp got up to 114F maybe thats why, using "wifi tether for root users" from the market

1. wifi mms is nothing major
2. I have had my notifications shade freeze twice when trying to swype some things away
3. Use dsp manager to turn down the bass with a eq
