Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

I been trying out CM7B5 with the mapsfix kernal/ext and really liking it a lot. I only really have one thing that maybe someone might have a fix for.

There is no % for battery life unless it is plugged in charging and then it is only on the lock screen.

Does anyone have a way or a theme or anything that always gives battery % without having to have a special app to open like Battery Doctor or similar ones.

go "cyanogenmod settings" and enable it in the "status bar tweaks"

edit: i got beat to the punch :)

Did you try changing it in settings? (menu> settings> cyanogen settings> interface> status bar tweaks> battery status style)

go "cyanogenmod settings" and enable it in the "status bar tweaks"

Thanks to both of you missed that tweak. At least it is close to what I was missing...the only thing missing now is when you have % active then it doesn't show except on the lock screen that it is charging.

Both you guys beat me. Damn Facebook notifications!

That is one of the many cool things about CM7. You can change just about all the status bar icons and notification bar widgets.

Actually, it does. If you look to the right of the battery % on the status bar while it is charging you will notice that the little battery level is animated.

i have to double tap it to get it to work. change it to percentage, then to none, then back again. works every time

If you have it charging from PC it doesn't seem to show that it is charging but when on a regular charger it does.

Thanks. Good to know. I have only done that once, in a pinch. Lol.

I always have a laptop with me and when driving my radio has a USB port for applecrap but it will also charge anything else that has a USB cable for it so that is nice I never had to purchase a car charger.

That is a great idea. Unfortunately, my current car radio is missing the tuning knob. Lol.

I gave my car charger to my neighbor.

I've been reading about this new update that's out and I see that Hroark has already got a rooted version posted In the Odin thread .

Here's my question , will CM7 work with the new update ? If we are running CM7 , will our phone even accept the update ?

I read that CTMod is accepting this update .
I run both CM7 beta5 and CTMod 3.1.2 . Would it be wise to even mess with this update if it attempts to download to my device ?

What are you people gonna do ?

Oh , HROARK and BLOODAWN ....... I think they may be keeping an eye on this Forum . I don't think it's by chance that they timed this Update with the release of CM7 beta5 and CTMod 3.1.2 . . ;)

I haven't tried it but I would think CM7 should work fine with the update since CTMod does

you can just use odin to get the new modem then flash the rom in CWM like normal

I just installed - FA19 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 by Koumajutsu

Restored CWM copy of CM7 beta5 . Working good so far . :D

Yep tested here too, just flashed the phone.tar. Anyways, I ordered a sweeeet class 10 16gb microsd for my phone and I was wondering if I did say, 2gb for the SD ext in cwm then installed the map sd ext kernel if all would be good and if I need to copy files or anything to it or just reinstall apps to it. That or would the easiest thing be to make a CWM backup then restore?

I don't know about you guys but I'm getting lower signal w/ CM7 and CTMod with this new modem update . CTMod was getting 2-3 bars , CM7 1-2 bars .

With new modem , CM7 and CTMod are both getting 0-1 bar . WTH ?

Anyone else noticed this ?
I'm gonna restore the old modem . Hopefully it won't update . I can always use Autostarts to block the update if need be . :D

EDIT : I went ahead and installed the new modem again after Kouma explained in detail how it works . Even though the phone is showing less bars , it is still reading the same dBm's that it was before installing the new modem . It seems that Boost has done some tweaking on how the bar graph is displaying the signal strength being received .

I had a weird thing occur a few minutes ago that I have never noticed before.

At 3PM I looked at the clock and it said 4:14PM. I did not notice if I had service unfortunately.

I went to date and time and manually set it and then went back and selected Time from System. Basically I toggled it off and then back on with the manual setting in between.

The 4:14 came back.

I rebooted and the correct time came back as soon as the Boost signal came back.

Not sure why it would be an hour and fourteen minutes fast even if Boost service was down. I had checked email and Tapatalk only a few minutes before.

I use it a an alarm clock so this is somewhat alarming. Pardon the pun.

Edit
We are having some bad weather headed this way.

Sorry if this has been covered already.....is there any reason why I can't get the task manager to install using titanium backup? Also tried using root explorer and moving it into system/app with no joy.
