Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

Not really a problem...and Im not sure if its just my phone. Just something I noticed yesterday. I had my phone plugged into the usb port on my computer in order to pack an odin image with the image packer (thanks hroark)so I could odin to the new fa19 image. I noticed when it restarted after creating the image, it wouldnt reboot completely. While plugged into the comp usb port I get the cm7 boot animation...then the screen goes black and it never completes boot. I tried to reboot several times and it never completed. Finally I pulled the cable out, and it rebooted normally. I plugged the cable back in and same problem....weird.

Yes , I am running a custom lockscreen that I got from another forum . You will need MetaMorph to install most of them though .
 
since flashing this rom, cwm has been unable to mount /system for me to format, flash a new zip, or restore a backup that isn't of this ROM.
i attempted to odin back to stock with cwm.. the stock rom booted but cwm still won't mount /system. i was able to restore a backup of cm7 but i am unable to restore any other backups on my sd card.

any ideas?
 
Are you using the newest cwm?

Did you try manually mounting /system in advanced? (.zip should do it for you tho)

What error are you getting?

When you used Odin, did you use boot as well? (reinstall cwm)

Try to re-download beta5, could be corrupt...
 
Does YouTube video work in HQ for anyone on Hroarks CM7? My sound works fine but video is frozen on the first frame. I read that CM7 doesn't support hardware acceleration and that's why it doesn't work.
 
Yeah I've been running into a similar issue, youtube plays fine unless in HQ.... also any videos I download audio keeps playing and video stays frozen and then plays a frame or to and freezes again. this was a past issue and i can't for the life of me remember anything to fix it.

I'm running CM7 beta 5
2.6.35.14 kernel DT2EXT on FA19

I'm referring to the YouTube app. As a fix, I tried to use CTMod's removed YouTube gapp. I put it in system/app, rebooted, and when the phone fully booted it said my SD card was safe to remove and it would not read it. I wiped the card and it's fine. The phone is good. I think I'm going to stick to CTMod. CM7 is great, probably better than CTMod, except for the fact that video is choppy.
 
I really like this mod but the only thing preventing me from switching completely to it is that 'no MMS while WIFI is on' bug :( I'm still hoping one day that gets resolved.

Other then that this is absolutely great work! LOVE the speed.
 
Just installed CM7... so painless I can't believe I didn't make the change months ago. Looks outstanding and I can't wait to do some exploring and finally be able to make this phone one of a kind.

Forgive me if I am wrong in posting this here, But i would like to Thank Hroark13 for the Unoffical Port to Precedent as well even though it doesn't say its for the Precedent This guy is this post is trying to pass it off as it is

It ran great for a while then it locked up my phone and i had to odin back to Froyo with DaveW41's odin for the precedent but i still want to thank you Hroark13 for all your hard work and letting this other guy just take your beta 5 zip file and rename it to Precedent_CyanMod7_port.zip and change the name in the Updater script and then claim to have ported it to the Precedent thats really generous of you. here is the one screenshot i was able to save off my sdcard showing how generous Hroark13 is..

i did see a post in the precedent forum where you gave permission to clone your github use it to make a working compiled port to the Precedent. thank you again Hroark13. it is Much appreciated.

When you say flash hot fixes, do you mean save the files to the SD card and use CMV to "Install from SD" or is it "Update from SD" or something completely diffrent?

I don't want to sound conceded or anything, but the Precedent also has Odin and ClockWorkMod because of my work on the Prevail

I am not saying I invented this stuff, but I did spend a lot of time figuring out how to get it to work with the Prevail, and the Precedent is basically the same phone. So it made it really easy for the Precedent Devs to have these things

I am glad that you guys are able to benefit from my work.

Well, got my 16Gb Class 10 SD card, works great just was a PITA to format, the first time the phone said formating but then did nothing after like 10 min. Hooked it up and did a 2gb ext 3 and the rest as NTFS well then the phone wouldn't read it (wtf). So then used CWM to repartition but I guess since they were already there it just reformatted the ext 3 one and I reformatted the larger one to NTFS again and its working great. Slight lag on startup but that's it.

ntfs is more difficult for android to read and write, fat32 is the normal format for removable media.
 
I've tried searching and installed gapps, but I still cannot figure out why none of the calendar widgets will display upcoming events, holidays, etc.

EDIT: Finally managed to get calendars to sync. Contacts and email sync fine while on WIFI but I noticed the calendar never completed. Turned off WIFI and resynced while on 3g and now things are displaying normally.
