This thread shows up on forum runner but not on tapa. Anyone else have this or is it just my phone?
so why cant we flash that flasher xda has in 4.0 and in 4.1 ..... also if the flasher doesnt work with this data cap on from metro the browser just runs until it finds something to display it with has anyone pointed that out to them big headed people at metro yet to see if its something they can do

metro is epic they could keep their service very interesting by allowing updates ota like ics but they rather if all of us get tired of our old phone and decide to buy their new phones......

yeah, well, whats happening instead is people are getting sick of their games and jumping to other carriers.

You would think it would draw a little.more loyalty to them. Shocked that they are still going to keep releasing gingerbread devices:(
Its 2012 dangit!!

So true!! And then that is when its going to become reality that MetroPCS won't exist, like that prediction of the companies thats gonna be gone in a few months. Plus, they're pricing the phones way too high. That'll make anyone want to switch carriers.

you get what you pay for, you want a $100 - $200 phone and thats what you get. Now I'm not saying I like the prices of the highend phones, but they deliver something the budget/low/mid end devices cannot. ;)

Some of this devices are identical-kind of like a slightly buff ascend. Seems like the marketing team said "give us some 600/800 MHz for some quick sales". Then price them originally at $60 then bump them up to $100.
:(

I agree with you on that too. My mom had the Samsung Admire, and I didn't like it. Now she has the the LG Connect, and its much better than the Admire. Esteem tops them all. I laugh tho when I see the price of the Lightray

The Lightray is a joke all around esp what they want for it. lol

And yea the esteem & Connect definitely run circles around the Admire just idling lol

whats does it cost carriers to have the latest os on their phones?? or perhaps an ota update? if nothing at all then theres no excuse i wouldnt mind being charged an extra $3 a month just to have all the latest updates, i mean if u the math there are millions willing to pay just a lil bit more extra for latest updates so they really dont have much excuse why not to give us ota updates for our phones except they use our hunger for something more and use it against us to make us buy their new products which i will add seems for now the Lg motion will be the first phone on metro to come with ics which i gotta say its quite late. and im sure the gs3 will come preloaded with ics as well and i know from there on we will be able to upgrade to jellybean.

It costs carriers a lot actually. The carriers are just as bloated with regulatory staff as the phones are.

Each carrier has a very specific testing process for every ota. they must add their carrier specific bloat, and then the update gets thoroughly tested for a month or so by the carrier to make sure it's working before pushing it out to the public as an ota.

The reason it costs them so much is the man hours going into quality assurance with the testing.

This is a fraction of the cost if something goes wrong though.

I was actually a phone tester, they give their employees the phones for about 2 months before they release them to see if there are any bugs left.
