Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

I have tried and the Sprint version is definitely broken (the page indicates that), the Boost version shows it is only 28mb so not sure about that one. The MegaTron v6.1.0 link that dmcjr22 provided in post #3518 changed my phone to Boost Mobile (?) according to the mmsc in "Data" and won't let me edit it. So I ended up un-installing and going back to Sprint Stock ROM. Also in MegaTron not able to set "Diag Mode" to USB to use CMDA Tools DFS. Work around is to do the following:

Install Root Explorer (app).
Navigate to /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag
Edit file named 'enable'
Change the 0 to a 1 and press the back button, when prompted select Yes to save
USB should now be enabled in DM mode.
To switch it back change the 1 to a 0

This is a known issue for the Sprint version of the ROM. For some reason, the hiddenmenu.apk isn't fully functional. You should still be able to use CDMA Tools and have the ROM on your phone, though; niteNarmor has a thread about it somewhere around here. One of the tricks is to still use the dialer to "change" the value, then reboot into CWM manually, and go from there. I'll post a link in a minute.

ok guys :| my camera wont work the app keeps crashing and yesterday all my pictures disappeared off my sd card luckily i had them backed up but does anyone know how to fix this camera app crashing i cant even get into it the camera app worked up untill yesterday
 
Mine does the same thing but its because my camera just stopped working all together. That is a common fault with the TU according to the reviews on the Samsung website. Hope that's not your case but I can't even debug it for you. Get a logcat of when .you open the app. Maybe we can see what it is. You could also backup and flash back to stock to see if it still crashes..
 
i had a tu back up of the camera and i re installed the data and it made it work for a day or so then i re-flashed megatron and it worked for a few more days and a few days ago i had a back up of the camra.apk when someone asked for it earlier and i replaced it by using root explorer and that worked for a few days... i just ended up downloading camera ics and it works about 100% of the time now
 
great rom, thank you... was on stock for so long and can't believe how long I dealt with that annoying screen sensitivity problem...moving icons was always an adventure...

only have had one glitch in the past week.... got that 'ram dump' screen a couple of times only after it's been charging overnight, but I read that maybe it's from having it OC'd? i wasn't, left those settings at default but did up the low end from 245 to 368mhz... maybe that'll help... no issues for the last three days...

anyways, thanks again...feels like have a brand new phone! :)
 
This new policy sucks is there gonna be an update to tweak it? I'm gettin from like 1000kbps to 200kbps after the pre update
 
This prolly a dumb question but how do I do a fresh install, like start brand new, my phone been restarting by itself and my battery will say 99% then turn off and say it has 1%....

Nothing is a dumb question.

First off, I have seen this many times and even experienced it.

Please power down your device and take your battery out. Look at it horizontally. If it appears to be "puffed out" or fills soft then it is your battery.

Most times this is the issue. Please let me know. If it that does not seem to be the issue, then I will help you go back to stock.
 
It feels a little soft but when put the battery back in I noticed I can move it when its flat, like its not leveled, so its my battery, thxs bro....
 
Running Megatron 6.1.1 and I am having a charging notification glitch.. when I unplug phone... the charging (electric short sound) notification plays over and over. I turned off for several minutes and pulled battery. Glitch still persists. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone for this Operating system it is great. And thanks to everyone that has helped me in the past.

Weird. Try flashing stock and see if it does it on stock too. If it does its your phone.
 
I had the same problem for a time.. Was irritating as heck. What it was for me, was dirt or debris in the charging port. So cleaned it out and used a toothpick to make sure it was clean in there and made sure the charging wire was clean as well. Not saying it'll work for you, but you could give it a go.

anyone on Sprint able to send pictures in texts? only my regular txts are going through....nobody is getting my pictures. ..

i followed the whole MSL url change to sprint yet it doesnt save....keeps showing as boostmobile....

any ideas?

If the url change didnt work try a third party messging app. Like go sms. It allows you to enter the sprint mms url in its settings. Once thats done your mms should get sent to the person.

I have this too, but given that MegaTron 6.1.1 (with my theme flashed over it) worked just fine for 1-2 weeks or more before it started happening, I'm chalking it up to a hardware issue. Completely clearing the phone and (re-)flashing the ROM is the only thing I haven't tried yet, though, so there exists a small possibility I'm wrong about the phone itself being the problem.

its the charging port itself i bought a tu on eBay for 30 dollars for my father to upgrade his phone from a shitty non android phone and i touched the charging port with a screwdriver slightly pushing it up and it stopped for a second and started back up so i took a q tip and ripped a piece of cotton off it and stuffed it under the charging tab and plugged in a usb cable to push it as far back as i can and unplugged it and it stopped no more charging issues and has been that way for about a week now... so either a carfully put some cotton under it i mean a really small amount and plug a cable in to push it back just so it holds pressure on that tab ooooorrrrrrrr buy a new micro usb port and solderer it on...

on another note i noticed that the camera on his phone sucks and the guy said its 3 months old and it looks like a brand new phone and mine is about a year old so im guessing the newer phones have cheaper parts in them hence the charging port issue and camera being grainy.. it sucks but when i use the flash on it it comes out perfect without flash it sucks if your intrested in seeing ill try taking a few pics and posting them.
 
does anyone have a sms replacement app that actually sends your mms messages... i cant find a single one i always have to go through stock....i tried chomp, gosms, handcent, and one called messaging pro G and all it does is sits there saying sending for every one of them... im asking here because idk if its my phone or if its something to do with the rom or what...

I have used and have always used handscent for my SMS/MMS needs. It always have been just fine.
