Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

actually i did rename it. i just read that an md5 mismatch is connected to corrupted data or in this case a false positive for corrupted data. so the renaming of it marked it s corrupted i suppose. but if you aren't getting the update from stock then maybe i should just stay on $hevrom and wait for 6.o idk, i'm jsut sick of the poor battery life....rawr lol

You can always look for the update in these forums. That is how I got it. These guys on here are awesome.

A lot of time crappy windows breaks the md5 when you copy it over to your sdcard or when you unzipped the file(if ouy did that). It does not mean the files are corrupt, just that the md5sum is. because windows changed it somehow.

If you have a linux system you can re-make the nandroid.md5 on your computer..

1. put the backup(eg. 2012.29.07.2240) on your computer/home folder somewhere
2. open up that backup folder and delete the nandroid md5 inside
3. open your terminal
4. change directory to that folder
Code:
cd ~/folder/folder/2012.29.07.2240 <hit enter>
5. create a new md5 for all the files in the backup
Code:
md5sum *boot.img>nandroid.md5 <enter>
md5sum *recovery.img>nandroid.md5 <enter>
md5sum *system.ext4.tar>nandroid.md5 <enter>
md5sum *data.ext4.tar>nandroid.md5 <enter>
md5sum *cache.ext4.tar>nandroid.md5 <enter>
6. put that folder(2012.29.07.2240) back inside sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/--- and restore

Hey guys, I need some help please?

Chevan and I where doing some testing on his phone and we corrupted dowload mode on his phone..

We can get it back but i need a copy of that partition from one of you please.

sprint or boost.. doesn't matter
it can be done in terminal emulator or adb shell
run this command:
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p5
that will create a file on the root of your sdcard named mmcblk0p5
copy that file and upload it here or wherever and send me a link

it's just download mode so it doesn't contain any personal data if anyone is wondering

We already started building on FF27 and we are quite ahead and making good progress than ever before.

For those that are unaware, there was a new OTA(boost/sprint update)FF27^^^ just recently. It's still 2.3.6 but it came out in the middle of chevan and I creating Megeatron so we have shifted gears and now are incorporating it with the lates update. And like chevan said, we are making good progress on it. we only have a few things to finish. not sure when it will be released but i'm guessing whithin a few weeks depending on the time we have to work on it.

Great! Can't wait. If you need a tester let me know.

I'm trying to rework the theme some, so if anyone has any pointers or can tell me whether they have had luck with UOT kitchen and what files I need to pull would be amazing1

so my battery suddenly win't hold a charge for shit. it sucks up an average of 10% per hour and i don't understand why it's all of a sudden doing this. the only thing i can think of is that it's been trying to update and can't complete said update since it's not stock. that's the only thing i can see out of the ordinary in my running tasks and i recalibrated the battery several times in an attempt to fix it on that end. idk....anybody know anything about this? i know the TU is notoriously bad on battery life as it is but this is getting pretty bad

The searchbuttonfix.zip installs to
/system/App
The App folder in the zip should be renamed to "app" instead of "App".
I'm not sure if anyone notice but yah

I recently rooted my phone, (Samsung transform ultra for Boost mobile). All went well with the root. I then downloaded Titanium backup. Ive also downloaded Rom manager, as I am most interested in getting Rom for my Phone. Ive reviewed your step by step process on how to install $hevron rom. The part I am having most issues with right now is the recovery and backup that i am to undergo before installing this rom. Ive already downloaded this rom so that when I figure out everything else I can install it. Ive been trying to find clockworkmod and it keeps taking me to rom manager, which ive found numerous warning not to use or it will brick my phone. And that is something I definitely do not want to do and carefully avoiding the best I can. Ive been searching for cwm zip or DL files, and cant seem to find anything that I can be sure to trust. Could you please guide me to what I am suppose to do, so that I can backup my phone? Ive tried looking up many instructions and vids, which do not explain or show anything that is easily deciphered. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou:)

Go in to recovery mode by powering down phone. Then hold volume down and power button until the Samsung logo appears let go of power button (keep pressing the volume down button until CWM appears). There you will find the CWM menu. Just be careful what you do in CWM.

I had a similar issue on my OG Droid when I had it. Do you have any apps set to auto-update?

If that's not the case, another thing to try is to freeze the offending app if you know what the app is, and have Titanium Backup installed.

so after i read what you suggested with freezing the offending app, and that app being the system update wanting to run, and since i like living on the edge lol i went ahead and froze it. im not gonna get a standard stock system update as it is since im rooted with a custom rom. it will still pop up wit hthe update screen but it doesnt stay in the list of running apps. im gonna give it a day or 2 of casual use and see how the battery hold up. thanks for your insight xaelith!

Anytime. I'm glad I was able to help out. The auto-update feature I was talking about is the checkbox one sees when downloading an app from the market. It says something like "Allow this app to update automatically." next to it. Sometimes apps will have that box checked by default, and if too many have it activated, it'll kill the battery in record time since all the apps will be constantly checking for updates.

However, it sounds like you were having issues with a system app, so such an option isn't available. :p
