Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

It maybe more work than i expected to flip it for sprint. but im looking into it. if it is alot of work then ill just postpone for now because chevan and i are working on a new version. im which we are changing the name to Megatron ver6.0 and it will be based on the ota (gingerbread 2.3.6). the current Rom is still based on 2.3.4. just a thought about name:

maybe you could name it Megatrom ver6.0
if its stupid you know, wharever lol:D

I am wondering... will it be Decepticon themed with a Megatron boot animation? If it's still secret I will understand. OK so not really, but I guess I will have to wait to find out anyways. :)

Nothing is set in stone yet but I was tossing that idea arround a bit as well before you mentioned it lol.. I think the silver and blue would kinda stick to previous versions of chevan's theme but also add some cool additions with the decepticon twist.

GOAL FOR THE NEWEST VERSION

Our main reason for the megatrom aspect is to make it as fast and powerfull as possible by adding the latest development of custom rom tweaks as a whole.

Our second goal is to make it as customizable and stripped down as possible to give everyone a clean palet to make your own look and feel

Thirdly is to make it cool and beautiful along with the screenfix, no carrierIQ, and an OC kernel which suports init.d scripts for setting things at boot time giving it a full custom rom base for anyone in the TU community to build off of for themselvs (as long as they give us credit for our hard work) ;) :D

I may be wrong but I believe this is a flashable zip file.. meaning don't unzip it but rather put it on the root of your sdcard and flash the zip in cwm.

Loota and chevanlol360 for help but idk no y still cant get searchbutton to open up to google. Its no biggie cuz dont use phone for net just more of a curiosity of y cant get to install. Thanks for responses though

Hey chev and mav. Since katracho bricked his phone and is abandoning ultra rom will you guys take it over if he doesn't mind. It's based on 2.3.6. That's what you guys are doin right. Whatcha think? :smokingsomb:

Mav and i are too busy for a another ROM right now. Our lives are busy at the moment, we are barely working on shevron 6.0 and every little time we get we try to get something accomplished for the new version. Right now i havnt even been workin on the wp7 ROM for the Warp. The little time mav and i get we now put into getting "something" for the Ultra working we have a special dev that is helping us.

If katracho has unfinished work for his ROM he can pass em along to either me or mav and when we arnt busy and our daily lives have calm down we will make sure it gets done but for right now niether mav or i are in good shape to pick up another ROM on our hands. We're barely making it with 1 plus my wp7 ROM for the warp.

so i messed up restored instead of backup lol ...however i did reinstall today and realized that searchbutton didnt work on home screen but did work on others win i deleted google talk from home screen searchbutton worked....wonder if that was problem whole time...but curiousity wants to know if anyone knows why initially wouldnt work on home screen

It might be something android did put in the programing. Like if delete the stock music app, Bluetooth wont work and will reset everytime until you turn it off. Idk.

so out of curiosity, if i wanted to switch back to my original rom that came with the phone and i had the backup via cwm, wouldn't i just need to do a restore of that file from sd card? i don't exactly want to leave this rom or anything but i wanna see if i can get the 2.3.6 update and see how much the battery life has improved

Yes. Just do your backup from cwm and it should restore to stock. I have done that same thing many times.

I had to update mine from the forums. I never received the update again after I went to stock. Not sure why. Plus I am on the sprint network.

awesome thanks for the quick reply!

EDIT: wait so how would i go about getting the 2.3.6 update if im in the same boat?

EDIT again: it's saying i have a MD5 mismatch......how would i go about fixing that?

You can restore your backup with CWM however the update still won't apply with CWM installed. You will also have to use Odin to put the stock recovery back on your phone.

I'm still not getting the update either.

As far as the MD5 mismatch, did you rename your backup's folder? CWM is very picky and it can't have any spaces. So if you do rename a backup's folder it should be something like stock.backup.rooted.

actually i did rename it. i just read that an md5 mismatch is connected to corrupted data or in this case a false positive for corrupted data. so the renaming of it marked it s corrupted i suppose. but if you aren't getting the update from stock then maybe i should just stay on $hevrom and wait for 6.o idk, i'm jsut sick of the poor battery life....rawr lol
